The fireplace looks great and was fairly easy to assemble, however, one of the support boards was broken and I had to glue it and use a couple of screws and it worked out fine. The fire logs look great, but would really be outstanding if there was a speaker with some crackling sounds!

The media could not be loaded. My wife ordered this for our new house. I initially thought it was too expensive. This is one of the things in our house we just sold we knew we would miss. We had a nice gas fireplace, the last picture is my old custom made one for a reference. This came in 2 big boxes. Everything was packaged very well. All the parts needed were included and it was easy to put together by myself. It is a bit heavy so help is easier. It takes about an hour or 2 total. The directions were really just pictures which is fine by me. I had one spot where the hole wasn’t finished all the way through, so I had to drill the hole all the way. This comes with a strap and pre-drilled hole to prevent it from toppling over. I probably won’t install it as we don’t have little ones and the weight alone will hold it up. The remote it nice. Each option of lights on the fire box has 5 choices. Color, height, embers, etc. it also has a timer. After getting the unit and putting it together it’s not a custom made built in, but it is nice, provide a nice flow of heat and the ambiance we wanted. The remote is an upgrade for us. The little letters and numbers on the top right go out after about a minute. They only come on when you are adjusting something, like the color. You will want to have an electrical outlet close by. I would say within 3 feet. Overall, I would buy this again, recommended if you have the room for it. ... show more

The way the mantel slips onto to base is nice, but it leaves huge gaps. There are also noticeable gaps where the side panels connect to the front. The "shabby chic" paint job is also lacking. It is a very light coat of dull paint. I fixed the unsightly gaps with caulk and gave the entire mantel a fresh coat of paint. Doing these two things made a huge difference. Now, I love it!!! I read many reviews before I decided on this fireplace. Many mentioned the gap problem and poor quality of paint, so I was prepared for those problems. The gaps were much larger than I expected. I also followed the suggestion to just hand tighten bolts until completely assembled, and that did help fix some of the fit problems as I could adjust the fit once I had it all together, The fireplace insert is wonderful and looks almost real. The heat it puts out keeps my room warm. For this price, I wish a sound crackle box would be included. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.😸😸😸 ... show more

    • Make sure model number on fireplace and fireplace match before you assemble mantel.

Had carpenter put it together. Notice crack on mantle after putting it together. Used a candle to cover crack . Model number didn’t match model number on instructions, for firebox to attach to mantle , therefore clamps to attach firebox to mantle were wrong size . Luckily Carpenter found clamps that fit among his tools . With these glitches it took about 3 hrs to get assembled . Paid $300 for his time and labor . On the positive side fireplace is right height and looks beautiful. Left it freestanding on hardwood floor . Logs and flame are very realistic . Fan is very quiet and puts out good heat . After all of the aggravation, I loved the end result . I would say it is a coin toss for getting correct model numbers to match . Damage to mantle was a quick fix by covering it with an object. I couldn’t give more than 3 stars because of extra cost to install, and labor. Otherwise it is beautiful and firebox flame is very realistic. ... show more

This is my first home that didn't have a fireplace. It took years to get this but I am so glad I finally did. I chose this one because it's grand and matches the crown molding. It was wasy to put together, it took my son maybe a hour or a little longer. The fireplace looks real like gas logs. Very pretty and realistic. I searched for almost a year trying to decide on a fireplace. I had this one and 2 others saved and had trouble deciding. I bought this one and it was the best decision ever! I put it together myself in about an hour! I am not a big person but I did it and it was not very difficult. The fireplace is big - which I wanted; the flame is so beautiful - not cheesy looking at all, the wood is heavy and design is perfect. My room is about 24 x 13 - it takes a long time for the temperature in the room to warm up - but I wanted it for décor more than a heating source. I could not be more happy with this fireplace - my suggestion is if you are debating on buying it - definitely buy it! The customer service is the best I have ever dealt with.
