Went to return this is the message I received "This item isn't eligible for return For safety reasons, items containing flammable liquids or gases can’t be returned to Amazon. " When I bought it said Returnable until Jan 31, 2023 "For the 2022 holiday season, returnable items purchased between October 11 and December 25, 2022 can be returned until January 31, 2023." Seller is dishonest there is NO flammable liquids or gases it is electric. It meets Amazon return policy for the item to be returned. Keep getting error code sometimes it works then it stops scared to use it do NOT need to burn our family's home down and possibly hurt or kill someone. Contacted Amazon the sent seller a message if seller does not send return label then I have to file A-to-Z claim to hopefully get my $1019 back. If not I will have to file a charge back on my credit card. I will update on how the seller response and what action I have to take. UPDATE: Seller replied Please ask the customer to first log in to her Amazon account and to raise a return request for this order. Once the return request is approved, labels will be provided to return the item back for a refund. As per Amazon return policy for every return, a return request needs to be raised from the customer's end. Because how the seller has changed the item specs to flammable liquids or gases. I could not do this. I had to call Amazon a 2nd time and the rep changed it to A-to-Z claim. Right after that I received another message from seller with 2 return labels. Timely delivery, in 2 boxes, the heater unit and the wooden structure. Pretty forward instructions except two front pieces that had staples coming from two different sides (no instructions); I removed the staples and glued the pieces to the front of the cabinet. Later the heater unit screwed into the same pieces making it sturdy. Completely satisfies my desire for some ambience and supplemental heat. My dogs love it too. A bit more expensive than some of the competition, but I’d buy it again. ... show more

    • Disappointing Workmanship

Fortunately, my husband has woodworking experience and tools. Upon arrival, the base had come apart. Flimsy staples and glue had failed due to poor alignment. We spent one entire afternoon and evening reconstructing it with strong screws and glue. Then we found that connecting cams were breaking because of inaccurate hole depths. We had to obtain cams from another manufacturer. They worked, but the trip to the outlet store added another hour to assembly time. This fireplace was more expensive than most, so we didn't expect all that extra work. Perhaps we just got a "lemon" manufactured on a Friday? Finally, though, we do have a beautiful piece of furniture with the great electric fireplace. Everything was labeled "oak", but the color is very dark, more of a dark mahogany. ... show more

Assembly wouldn't have been too difficult had it not been damaged. This seems to have occurred at the factory during placement into the box. A connector was broken from one of the pieces, damaging the piece to which it had been attached. However, after using wood glue and clamps I was able to repair and finish assembly. Additionally, manufacturing process created a bulge where the two top pieces join. The bulge is now hidden underneath the Bluetooth speakers I placed on the top. If not for the speakers, it would be very noticeable. Seems way too expensive for what it is. Attractive flame animation although I had hoped for more. If not for the damage it would have earned four stars. ... show more

This is so well made. The corner supports could be a little stinger. It is not easy to move this on carpeting without pull the corner supports apart. Other than that ...love it, love it, love it!

    • Arrived damaged!

The second box arrived a day after the first box and was caved in and damaged. A chunk of wood was broken off of one of the pieces of the cabinet. My husband is handy and managed to find away around it during assembly. Thankfully the damaged piece can't seen from the outside. It looks nice, heater works great, and the "flames" are very reasonably realistic. Don't expect great packaging if you order this product! ... show more
