This harness worked wonderfully for our Ragdoll kitten! We used it for trips out and about as well as trips to the vet, and we used it at home frequently so he'd get adjusted to wearing one. He adjusted to it very quickly; he barely ever had the "falling/rolling over" phase that other harnesses seem to induce. It did, however, calm him remarkably. It was like a Thunder Jacket! We used it a lot when introducing him to our older cat, because he was a little too rambunctious for her liking, but the harness kept him calmer. He never escaped from it in any scenario, but we kept it well-adjusted using the two-finger test. We ordered this when he was 5 months old and weighed 5.7 lbs. His neck measured at 8 inches and his chest was 12 inches, and we ordered a medium. It fit him very well! In the first two pictures, it was within a couple days of receiving it. You can see that we had it adjusted pretty tight. His coat wasn't fully grown in so he was more of a "medium hair" at the time, and he had a bit of a chunky kitten belly. The third picture is the last time he wore it, which was his vet trip when he was 9 months old. I don't have his measurements for that time but it was at its loosest setting on the buckle. I checked it with the two-finger test and it was snug, and his vet verified that it fit him well but he'd be outgrowing it all. He weighed 9.8 lbs and had lost the baby belly but gained a lot of fur and growth overall. He's now just over a year old and I'm purchasing his next harness. He now has a 13-14 inch neck and a 15-16 inch belly, and the harness won't even fit over his shoulders. Overall, this was a fantastic harness for him. I had no complaints the entire time he used it. The step-in style was preferable over the vest-style because it velcroes at the back rather than chest and stomach; vests always get stuck in his fur and makes harnessing more uncomfortable. My only disappointment is that the other styles Rabbitgoo currently offers that fit him are ones that buckle and slip over the head, which are not only harder to put on, but easier to escape from. But this style was perfect for us and I was disappointed that I couldn't order a larger one! ... show more

We got this harness from a friend in a smaller size when our cat was younger. It was really great quality and we loved that it had a buckle and velcro, so we were she couldn't escape! There is definitely a learning curve with this because it does cover quite a bit of your cat, which they aren't used to, but definitely worth it. We also loved how long the leash was. More recently, we bought this harness in a large but unfortunately its too small for her. She's been a steady 10 lbs exactly and unfortunately the large didn't fit her. ... show more

Viola likes this harness and feels safe knowing we are by her incase anything happens. I like this harness for when I take her places like the Vet. She’s terrified of Dogs so if we have to weight her, I have that harness she can’t escape out of. Overall am happy with it.

I bought this harness in a size large for my 9lb Coati, assuming there would be some room to grow since his chest measured 13” but it fits pretty snug. It is very well made and seems to be durable enough for my coati. I also tried this on my 7 lb Persian cat who is a pretty small cat and although it fits it’s also pretty snug, so even though this is a large I don’t think it would fit a cat over 8lbs. Wish they made an XL in this model because this type of harness with the small leg holes is the only type that works well for keeping a coati from escaping the harness, and I know he is going to outgrow it. Would definitely recommend as good quality and better made then any of the harnesses found at the big box pet stores. ... show more

    • Like a flotation device for indoor kittens going outside.

My kitten is an indoor cat. Not allowed to roam where I live. He didn't want any part of this harness the first time he saw it, and I can't say he loves it now, but he does love going outside. This harness wraps around him like a life vest. It looks like it would be uncomfortable around the shoulders to me but after a brief non-violent struggle to put it on, he honestly doesn't seem to mind. If I leave it on him after we come in, he doesn't try to get it off like he did with his collar for the hour after he first got it put on. One feature that has come in handy but they don't mention, it is sturdy enough to pick him up by grabbing the back of the harness. That may have saved him from getting hurt more than once when he was learning to run instead of freezing in front of an oncoming car. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The color matches my cat's blue eyes. I bought a small, ordered it and he had a growth spurt that week. IF I'd put it on my 12 week old kitten when I ordered it, he'd have walked out of it. He's long and lean, Siamese build, the SMALL is still large on him at nearly 16 weeks. He tolerates it, it's easy to put on but I have to tighten down the strap for the latch. Velcro effective and only once has he tried to get out of it. He's an indoor cat. Always will be. I put the vest on him and take him out to explore beyond my personal space... I feel better about letting this happen because I know he won't be able to freak out and climb a tree, run into a street or hide under something I can't get him out of -- sometimes he even walks beside me on the leash, but generally I have to carry him. I'm training him to travel with me, harness is part of his travel kit. I snap the leash on when I let him out of the carrier and he explores the car. ... show more

Archie has graduated throughout the sizes and at 9kg he's in a large now. I'm going to have to find a bigger size soon though. This harness was a game changer. Archie was comfortable in it on his first hike to a waterfall and he'll run around in the snow with his puffy zipped over it. Just recently he unfortunately spent 2 days at the vet and they kept it on the entire time. They loved having it available to gently handle him while he had a catheter in for a urinary obstruction.
