  • Working Well For Keeping Track Of My Cat
Style: Brown
I bought this tracker in December 2020 for my indoor/outdoor cat. It's been a game changer for me in both convenience and peace of mind. We live near a main road and I've been able to see that he doesn't cross it nearly as much as I thought he did, which is a relief. Late at night if he's still out I can quickly find him and lead him back home instead of having to wait around until he decides to come back. It's really interesting to be able to see all the places he goes as I had a lot of assumptions previously about his movements that I now realize were wrong. I was surprised to find that most of the time he stays within the range I prefer him to wander, which I would never have been able to know without the tracker. Initially I signed up for a month-to-month subscription for about $9 per month. This allowed me to see where my cat was at any time and view his recent history, and also to cancel at any time. After a few months testing it out I decided to upgrade to the yearly subscription which includes one replacement should the tracker get lost. There are some reviewers who complained they couldn't use the tracker without paying for a yearly subscription, but if you're considering getting it I would suggest looking at the options yourself as that was not my experience. The tracker is really meant for dogs so it is a little big on my cat, but it's fairly lightweight and he seems to have adjusted to it fine. I do hope one day a smaller one can be developed for cats. I use breakaway collars with my cat, so I worried a little that having a bulky object attached would make it more likely to catch on things and come off, but the collar has only broken off about 3-4 times in the 8 months I've had the tracker attached, which is no more than usual for my cat. The live tracking, light, and sound features helped me to locate the tracker each time so I could retrieve it (the first time it was 6 feet inside a drainage pipe where my cat had fought with another cat, that was a good time getting it back). The sound is high-pitched but a bit hard to hear unless it's quiet outside and you're pretty close to it. But on the other hand I wouldn't want it to be deafening in case it ever got turned on while my cat was wearing it, as that wouldn't be fun for him. There were some bugs I noticed early on with how the tracker functioned, but I’ve installed the firmware updates as they’ve become available and it’s working much more smoothly now. I find it to be pretty accurate whenever I'm trying to pinpoint my cat's exact location via the live tracking feature. I had minor connectivity issues now and then for the first few months, but those have improved with the updates. The battery life has been great since day one; I take off the collar and turn the tracker off whenever my cat comes inside, so I only have to charge it once or twice a week. The company seems to be continuing to make overall improvements that are helpful. They were responsive and pleasant to deal with when I contacted them early on with feedback. All in all, despite some imperfections, this tracker has been well worth the cost for the peace of mind it's given me of knowing where my cat is and where he's been, and for being able to locate him and get him back inside whenever I need to. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to keep track of your pet via GPS tracking. ... show more

  • The most valuable purchase!
Style: Brown
For the past three months, we’ve been using a budget-friendly GPS tracker for our rescued pitbull puppy. Our adventures often lead us to the woods, where she roams free, reveling in her freedom. The wait for her return is always a tense time, filled with worry about her whereabouts. Initially, we didn’t have high expectations for this affordable device; it was more about having a semblance of peace of mind. Surprisingly, it has become our most valuable purchase since adopting our dog. The GPS tracker may lag slightly behind her actual movements, but its accuracy is commendable. On two occasions, our energetic pup managed to lose the tracker amidst the dense woods. Each time, the device pinpointed its location, allowing us to recover it without fail. Once, it even survived a night in a river, wedged between rocks, and functioned perfectly after a recharge, despite the near-depleted battery. If there’s one improvement we wish for, it’s a more secure attachment to the collar. The rubber holder seems to loosen over time, leading to the device’s occasional detachment. We wonder if it’s possible to purchase the rubber holder separately to address this issue. It’s worth noting that the tracker isn’t designed for short-range detection; it won’t differentiate whether your dog is in the backyard or the next room. However, for those whose dogs enjoy the great outdoors off-leash, this GPS tracker is a solid recommendation. It allows you to monitor just how far your adventurous dog has ventured. ... show more

  • Not quite ready for American market
Style: Brown
Firstly, when the collars arrived, the box came with several separate instruction guides—similar to old maps—the English set up guide was located somewhere within the several folded, tiny font, fold outs. Once ur able to find the appropriate Translation, u start the set up process. U immediately realize that the collar(s) u just spent 200 dollars on, require an additional 200.00 to activate (btw, If u do not select the Maximum coverage/amount, the tracker APP will continuously show an icon, above anything else, asking you to please consider an upgrade. This was a distraction during the entire set up—which I will address—but even after the set up, anytime ur app is opened, the top banner has no info about ur dogs whereabouts, but continues to remind you to consider upgrading your package to the 200-300 (I have two pups) category, payable immediately. So the only way to remove that constant distracting omnipresent bold advertisement is by buying the maximum package (after I’ve spent hundreds on the colors). The set up—I’m not an engineer but I’m an attorney with mechanical and tech expertise. The App and the set up is non-sequitur. There is neither consistency nor any sense of finality. The blue tooth instructions are contradictory. The translation is week, and the functions are unfriendly. There is no thought put into this APP—-all a consumer expects (I’d assume) is a location finder when u can’t find you dog. This thing presents u with map options—so instead of supplying you with a tool to enable the creation of ie a map around your home and property as the safe area for your pup, where anything else beyond that bubble is, for all intents and purposes, a big no-no for your beloved pet ;ie like anyplace within the fence is fine, any place outside of the fence is not fine), this App requires u to create the unsafe zones on ur own, using very dated shapes and tools to specific where ur pet doesn’t belong (I mean, I just don’t want my pups to go outside of the “safe zone”—shouldn’t that be an option? It’s not. The onus is on u to specify all safe zones—so if ur pet is even beyond that area I’ve set up, it won’t register as an unsafe zone… U will see that, while setting up ur collar, like any other device and accompanying APP, there are arrows to countinue the set up process, and upon completion, ud see that “congratulations, you have completed the set up process. You are ready to start tracking your pets…” message. Nothing here. So u have no idea when ur done with set up—the only message u will get, however, at the top of the screen, is yet another reminder to please consider upgrading your package. I’ve gone through the functions on the app—already I’m getting messages about my Weak GPS signal, without any indentifiable method to change your initially selected WiFi network. What pops up instead, upon receiving the message, is the aforementioned bothersome advertisement. Clearly these dog tracking devices are in need of a major overhaul—because if this is the one given the highest reviews, ur stuck with something aggravating, made more frustrating by this company’s primary interests (ur upgrade and money)—they can’t even hide it, or even pretend their goal is to assist u in the best way possible during some of the most stressful times of your life (when u can’t find ur dog/cat.) Note: there is no phone number to call anyone in customer service. All communications must be done via “email”—-I attempted to “live chat” with questions before I made my purchase, but their “Life Chat” was not functioning at the time. At this stage of course I won’t recommend this product. If I do see a change over the next few weeks, I will certainly return with ab update —and I hope to do so—I’ve already invest approx 500.00 for two collars and a service which is already advising me of connectivity issues—even though during the purchase process, when asked to supply my address and zip, etc., I was given the “yes! There is coverage in ur area!!!” celebratory/congratulations- u -qualify message. One of our dogs wanders and I need this technology. Such high expectations for such mediocre to resentful first impressions….hope to come back with good news, but please do ur research. JP/Northern Westchester, NY ... show more
