This was exactly what I needed while I was on vacation. I used a tiny screwdriver to program the timers and tested them before I left. It is tedious, but I believe they are worth the value for the cost. It worked great and nobody knew I wasn't at home!

I use these on window fans and table lamps for convenience. I have the window fan turn on just after noon in our loft, to dump hotter air outside, and I have it turn off at dusk. The table lamps prevent me from returning to a dark house. The setup is very easy - just set to current time and then “depress” the time period for which you want your appliance to run. I like the timer for ease of setup...although it takes a little figuring out. I bought a 2-pack in January. This is the first part of June, and the first timer has already quit! That doesn't seem dependable to me. I'm very disappointed!! I have now plugged in the second one, and we shall see... UPDATE: July, and the second timer is still working well. The great thing is that Sally from Customer Service contacted me and offered to refund my money or replace the timer. I said that I would be happy if she sent another timer to replace the one that quit. Today, I received 2 timers! What great customer service. The cost of my electricity varies depending on the time of day, with it costing the most during peak hours. I wanted to automate powering down my dehumidifiers during peak hours, but I didn't want to futz with some smart plug that was going to demand I create an account, get an app, and so on. Seeing this item promoted in a Wall Street Journal article on "dumb" tech, I immediately purchased a two-pack. They work exactly as I need them, no silly app, Wi-Fi connection, or data harvesting involved. Perfection. Only small drawback is it's initially a bit difficult to decipher exactly which switch represents what 15-minute interval.
