I bought this dimmer for four recessed incandescent bulbs in my living room. I haven't check the wattage on those bulbs, but I haven't had any problems. LIKES 1. Simple and gets the job done without fancy bells and whistles. It has a clean design that blends in well with my other Decora-sized switches. 2. Dimming seems to be consistent when moving the slide from one end to the other. I have had some dimmers, especially the circular knob ones, that don't have a uniform effect. This can get annoying in my opinion. With this slide, halfway is half bright and so on. DISLIKES 1. Only works on incandescent. This is a bit of a stretch since it is stated on the product, but if I wanted to switch to CFL or LED, this dimmer won't work. 2. The enclosure is a bit larger than normal switches since it is a dimmer after all, so it was a small struggle in getting this to fit in the switchbox. Not difficult but just keep this in mind when installing it. RECOMMENDATION If you have incandescent bulbs, then this is a great dimmer. If you plan on switching to CFL or LED, then it's probably a waste of money to buy this. ... show more

Great device and has a little light indicator on the switch. Easy to install but my only complaint is that there is a small delay for the light to turn on when flicking the switch.

    • Quality decent for price. More expensive switched probably more sturdy.
Used these switches to dim retrofit led lights on ceiling cans. When used in single pole or three way circuit, the installation and operation were easy. When used in a four way circuit (a three way switch at each end of the circuit with a four way in the middle) the dimmer had to be wired by determining which line was the hot lead and which two wires were travelers. The four way circuit was not described in the included sheet, but a little research on the internet was helpful. ... show more

A little pricy for some but perfect fit into box with 3 other switches, nice profile for Decora, white was good color for existing plate and switched - fit right in. Dimmer works very well for 6 light LED bathroom vanity light

This thing sucks and broke in like 6 months. We don't hit our light switches hard and were especially careful after the last time I replaced this exact model of switch. This one broke 6 months later and I ended up replacing it with some other brand switch from Home Depot. Don't buy this garbage, it's not worth the $14. ... show more

    • Pros and Cons
Over all the switch looks good and works reasonably however as others have mentioned there is a bit of a delay when turning on which just feels funny since you expect a light to immediately flick on when flipped but I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually. This should've been a supper easy install and it mostly was except for one very annoying detail I've personally never experienced, the screws that you loosen and tighten to connect the wires do not stay open for you to slide in the wire. You have to hold the unit screw side down as you try to slide the wire under or the screw head maddeningly drops down to not allow the wire underneath. Maybe it's just me but I found it unnecessarily frustrating to do such a simple task. Other than that all seems well so far. ... show more

    • Great with ultra thin LED recessed lights
If you know how to change the light switch, this is nothing different. However, I think it's great compatibility with my ultra thin recessed LED lights that I installed. The brightness adjustment is small, but it gives wide range based on my light fixtures. It's been over a month and no issues. Also, I match with a standard 3-way switch with no issue.
