  • Would be amazing at half the price!
Style: Smart Plug Color: White Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Curse you Philips, your products are great but your prices are abysmal! As with other Philips Hue devices, this has the superpower known as “it just works.” I’ve suffered through enough janky “smart home” devices of all sorts to truly value this. I’m not sure I value it *quite* as highly as Philips’ MSRP department does though! If I had gotten it free and was just considering the product, I’d give it 5 stars. If I was just whining about the price I’d give it 3 stars. Ultimately for me I have to land on 4. They need to be dinged for their utterly awful prices, but I cannot deny how good these things are. This was able to be set up in mere seconds with my bridge, and has never failed to respond either to the app or my wireless switch/remote. Even the best smart home gadgets seem to fail to respond at least 10-15% of the time; not this smart outlet. It hasn’t failed even once for me in weeks of daily use. Can’t argue with that. Bottom line: Philips hue is a strong recommend. ... show more

  • An upgrade in looks and feel from v1, but why is the magnet so weak?
Style: Dimmer Switch Color: White Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I love hue dimmer switches- I stick them all over the house. Overall I prefer this to the past generation v1 hue dimmer switch. I also like the new button layout. Now you have two options for "one-click" scenes (one from the power button and one from the cycle scenes button), instead of needing to use the on button as the cycle button. It also feels nicer and doesn't look quite as cheap. The build quality is still cheap (if you want high end, you need Lutron), but the buttons don't wiggle around anymore. However, the magnet is inexcusably weak. I am going to be knocking these things off their docks constantly. Even the v1 magnets weren't strong enough, so this is a major step backwards. I was also very disappointed that my v1 switches only lasted 3 years each. It's a big expense when you have a lot of them. Hopefully v2 lasts longer, but I am not counting on it. Overall still recommend, despite the build quality and weak magnet. As a side note, individual buttons can now be reprogrammed to run Alexa routines. This is not useful if you actually use them for light scenes, but for someone with a decked out smart home I'm sure it is handy to have an extra of these. ... show more

  • Strictly Bluetooth for security
Style: Smart Plug Color: White Size: 2 Count (Pack of 1)
I'm using these sockets to control various appliances and put them on sleep timers. Folks concerned with Internet security don't want devices reporting data to random Internet servers. The best way to guarantee that? Use devices that don't have wifi! I got the Hue app to turn my devices on and off and set timers. Sure I can't do that while I'm out shopping or at the office. I have to be physically nearby because it's Bluetooth. Perfect! These sockets also have a physical touch button in case you don't want the app or have some issue come up. I wish they were cheaper, but the price makes sense. ... show more

  • Very good, but I expensive
Style: Dimmer Switch Color: White Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I like these Hue switches to add to places where I cannot use a wired in switch. I do not like that they are so expensive (frankly, all things Hue are, which is why I’m trying to move away from them in some parts of my house), but the most irritating thing is that you can set up automations in either the Hue app or the HomeKit app, but neither of them is exactly perfect, so I cannot do EXACTLY what I want. Also, be aware that if you set up the device in HomeKit and Hue, the rules you created in one will fight with the rules set up in the other, causing it to act flakey. So decide which one you’d rather use and then set up the rules and automations there. ... show more

  • These are solid performers if you need simple "ON/OFF" control with Philips Hue
Style: Smart Plug Color: White Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I use this with a Philips Hue Hub, which then connects to my Apple HomeKit setup. Works great, never have had any issues with the Philips Hue units losing connection or not working unlike some of the wi-fi connected devices by other manufacturers. The Zigbee protocol seems to work well even with the Philips hub and this plug being at opposite ends of the house. The Philips Hue ecosystem isn't the cheapest for sure, but my experience has been very positive so far. ... show more

  • Excellent product, good integration, good automation
Style: Smart Plug Color: White Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Bought around a year or so ago, and it absolutely fit the bill. Because there's programming APIs for Phillips HUE devices this can be automated to your hearts content, and it integrates very well into any existing HUE ecosystem. The plug still operates reliably, pairing was a breeze. I do prefer them over competing devices simply because I find this far easier to integrate into my home automation. Leave home, turn things off. Arrive at home, turn things on - easy peasy. Even automating from PC works great: Log in, run script, turn on switch. Log out or reboot, turn switch off. Would recommend if you need that kind of functionality AND if you have a hub (Phillips or other compatible hub). ... show more

  • Works great!
Style: Dimmer Switch Color: White Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Easy to set up and connect to my existing Hue system. And for once, a product in the Hue ecosystem is listed at a moderate price!

  • CAREFUL: Very different products
Style: Smart Button Color: White Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
[UPDATE: they’ve pushed an update adding homekit support!] On the amazon listing there's at least 4 different products listed on this one page. You would think that they're all basically the same things just different configurations. They aren't. I wanted a dimmer switch in my living room to control my lights in that specific room, and then have a smart button near my door to quickly turn off all the lights in my home but: A) The dimmer switch works great for what I need it to and is HomeKit compatible. It's homekit compatible and in the hue app you can have the bottom button turn off all the lights in the room B) ~The Smart Button is NOT homekit compatible and you can only _toggle_ lights. Meaning there's no way to configure the button in the hue app to specifically turn off your lights. You'd have to create a scene that specifically turns on all your lights and then hit the button again to turn them off. This wouldn't be a problem if it were home kit compatible like the other products listed on this exact product page but that isn't the case.~ Each product is very different and I don't know why all the reviews and product info is grouped as one so be careful ... show more
