  • Contains lead, awkward setup, but nice otherwise...
I bought this as a gift for my husband, but upon receiving the product I saw a lead warning on the box that I hadn’t seen on the product page originally. There is a Prop 65 warning at the bottom of the page, but it doesn’t specify lead online like the sticker did. My question about what part of this product contains lead hasn’t been answered, and until it is, my review score will remain low. If it’s in the natural stone in reasonable amounts that can’t be released into the environment, then I wouldn’t knock off stars, and I’m hoping that is the case since my husband decided to keep it, but for all I know the manufacturer might have added lead unnecessarily. I would appreciate a bit more transparency from the company, especially when purchasing such an expensive product. Aside from possible lead poisoning, it’s a decent fountain. Setup is a little rough and may need some tweaking, but overall it’s nice. The instructions are in broken English, didn’t list all the parts, and the pictures aren’t very helpful, so I had to guess how to put most of it together. Thankfully there aren’t many pieces. I couldn’t figure out where one piece went, but I think it’s a spare attachment for the pump for a different sized hose. It takes a lot of water, and the pump will make noise and the ball won’t turn until you fill it up completely. We had to fill ours near the brim before it worked properly. An important detail that many reviewers seem to have missed. The hose isn’t very long, so the motor can’t sit at the base of the fountain, which is probably why it takes so much water to get it running. The side of the motor that controls the water flow fell off when I was attaching the hose. Thankfully it was easy to put back on, but it doesn’t give me much confidence for its longevity. Time will tell. We seem to have gotten more rocks than other reviewers, but still not enough to cover the whole fountain, and they aren’t particularly pretty. We had to leave the side facing the wall bare. I’m guessing the manufacturer is thinking that users would like to decorate their fountains themselves, but the picture does not say this and is a false representation of what is being purchased. Also I had to wash off clumps of dirt from the rocks we got to avoid clogging the pump. I realize rocks are going to be a little dirty by nature, but these looked like they were picked up outside without any care. It is fairly heavy as one would expect from natural stone, so make sure to place it on a sturdy surface. Overall it’s a sturdy fountain and seems to be made well. The tiers are all one piece that floats on top of the edge of the base with no level. It’s easy to tip it to one side more than another, so it needs some adjusting to make the top level and get the water to spread out evenly. Once you get past the awkward setup and add enough water, the pump noise goes away, the ball may need a small push, but it turns well, and you’re left with a light trickling sound. I think this would be quiet enough for a shared office so long as everyone likes the sound of water and likes light. The fountain gives off a soft orange glow. It’s hard to see from a top down view, but from the side you can see a vertical pilar lighting up the center. We haven’t had any trouble with water splashing on the max setting, but the pump does allow you to adjust the water, so you should be able to avoid splashing, even for those who prefer to remove the quartz ball on top. I had hoped the light and water could be controlled separately, but that is not the case. One glaring omission in the design: there is no on/off switch on this fountain at all. You either need to buy a switch or you’ll need to plug and unplug it every time you want to turn it on and off. Aesthetically it’s a pleasing fountain, both visually and audibly, but the design could use some quality-of-life improvements. I think it’s a bit over-priced, but if not for the lead warning and misrepresentation of the product, I’d give it four stars based on overall enjoyment of the fountain. ... show more

ok so here goes... i read the bad and the good reviews and ordered anyway. they are all honest by my experience. i was really looking forward to this, a bit disappointed, and then found it acceptable. i'll start with the bad and end on the positive. * the tubing that runs from pump to top of fountain is TOO SHORT. i have hands the size of a 10 yr old but fingers couldn't fit into side to attach suction-cupped motor to bottom and have attached to fountain spout at the same time because hose too short and too slim an opening on the side. be prepared to settle it in with chopsticks, bamboo skewers, butter knife, eyeglass screwdriver or the like. * yes, the rocks were dirty as in needed to be cleaned of rock dustings-not dirt. And, i can't speak on others' experience, but i got a dozen of them and they were of fair size. * fountain spout was crooked, had small bit of styrofoam (?) glued underneath it which might be cause but that also may be what helps it turn ball, idk. and once going, the crookedness does not show (nor does that styrofoam bit). * on that point of crookedness, the water only trickles down the one side of the top even when fountain is completely filled, so maybe it is too crooked. i place the rocks to get the water to go all the way around the other layers. * the resin material is decent quality, not flimsy at all. * the ball on top is glass! * sometimes the ball doesn't want to exactly spin, but if you give it a little push, it goes non-stop! the bubbles inside the ball are reminiscent of glitter once it spins. pretty. * the motor will only be noisy until you use enough water, keep adding and the sound will go away completely and you can hear just the water. lovely! * the white part of the structure is not fully opaque, so these parts will light and change colors with the ball. that was a pleasant surprise. I am glad i got it, like it, worth the hassle for me, but i wouldn't get it to give as a gift as it is. 'hope this helps. ... show more

  • Love the size and performance for the price

The media could not be loaded. I like that it’s quiet and the water doesn’t splash outside the fountain and the motor is not as loud compared to other table top fountains

  • Awesome product-we'll send as gifts in the future - great display and Great for relaxation
Color: Pyramid Feng Shui
After all this time I am very comfortable writing this review AWESOME PRODUCT - buy it! :-) Now - pay attention for first time users of a submersible pump and don't complain to the vendor / manufacturer! If you've never had a submersible pump in your life before the first thing you need to understand is that you're dealing with water - and it's alive - YES ALIVE! Water will crack, tear down, dissolve and move mountains. Therefore - you need to clean the unit every 6 months if you use distilled water (water gets "stuff" from the air around iot and every 3 months if you use tap water. My wife has this in her office running 12+ hours a day - WATCH IT and make sure there's always water in it to fully submerge the pump and NEVER run the pump dry - the lights you can purchase multiple colors from Amazon and once you kill the pump - same - for a few dollars you can get a replacement pump - but this original pump has been running for years now - 5 and sometimes 6 days a week If you live in Texas you MUST replenish the water daily - it's a relatively large water surface and it will evaporate - again if you never dealt with open water and / or submersible pumps before - pay attention - you have a little piece of nature in your home - it's like a tiny little pond - and bodies of water evaporate - and water pumps are engineered to pump water not air Also make sure to inspect and clean the pump yearly - even with distilled water use dust will collect from the surrounding area (unless you're in a data center and then I would ask what genius allowed you to place a large bowl of water in the data center - lol) ... show more
