I was very reluctant to buy an electric log set. Never saw one that was convincing enough. BUT , i've been wanting fire in this fireplace for years and nothing but electric comes that small (16"), so i bought it to try...and return if it was awful. I LOVE IT! It is pretty convincing. Our freestanding gas fireplace hasn’t worked in years and we searched for an insert small enough to fit. We had to remove all the guts of the fireplace for this to fit, but it sure looks nice!!!! We moved into a house a few years ago that advertised that they had a fireplace. Well there is but the chimney is blocked off and the fireplace is small so I had been looking for an electronic one to put in there. The problem came in with how tiny the fireplace opening was. This one was just the right size and it looks beautiful. I haven't really used the heat yet (turned it on to make sure it works) but I got it in the middle of summer so didn't have it on long. EDIT: November 2023 We used this off and on for about a week with the heat on when it suddenly stopped working. The light effects still worked but not the heat. I wrote to the company and they did send me a new one. The heat works but the thermostat does not. If I have it at level 1 it never turns on and if I have it at a level 2 it never shuts off. It is the only one I found that would fit our fireplace so I have to deal with manually shutting it off and on. The light effects though are beautiful and realistic looking. ... show more

    • It's the smallest one I could find, and it works great in the small space I have.
I've been searching for months for a SMALL electric fireplace log heater for my daughter's small fireplace. This one works great, emits heat, and looks inviting. It's a win-win all the way around. The only drawback is that it doesn't come with a remote.

The fact that this will not heat after slightly less than 2 months and I cannot return either through Amazon or Seller, add the fact the seller contact is an automated process that seems to trap you into a loop that does not allow any possible resolution, give this a one star rating. The media could not be loaded. It’s nice supplemental little heater that adds a little ambiance. A gas line for a ventless system wasn’t in this year’s budget, so this was a fair runner up that would fit my very small fireplace. It looks cheap close up and the blower is very loud, but in a dark fireplace at night, it’s not so bad. ... show more
