I did a lot of research when selecting our newest knife set. I had just come from a household of cutco knives and was looking for something with quality without the hefty price tag. I was not disappointed in the slightest. This excellent knife set has all the basics a casual cooker needs as well as the quality. So this set is, I think in line with the cost.. the block is not fully finished, it's more rustic but very usable. Blades are thicker and so might not seem as sharp, but they are probably 18-20 degrees which is standard. They have some weight to them and seem like they would hold up over time with maintenance. All my knives did fit into specific slots without issue. These would be the set you don't have to fret over, just wash quickly by hand, wipe dry and put away (kinda workhorse types). ... show more

They are full tang bladed kitchen knives and have good weight on them. That's about all that's good about em. They get scratched easily when you clean them. I wash them and dry them after every use(never had them in the dishwasher) and after 6months my chef knife is getting rust spots on it. Sharpness didn't last very long. ... show more
