  • Works good but may be too short
I love this door, the dogs and cat feel like they have super powers. The only thing I would suggest is know your pets height and how tall they will get. We upgraded from the old school flap with the idea of getting a bit taller of a door. Ours is under a windowsill so we couldn't go higher because of the panel. So far it's still great. The remote collars do need to be programmed before you put them on your pets so distance can be set. The only other thing I would not pick is the black dangly power cord. My pup knows it's there and wants to eat it. I'll cover it with cord covers. All in all,I Love it, thanks ... show more

  • Adds security and energy efficiency to doggy door
I could not imagine my life without this dog door. Here are some advantages of this product: 1. The door does not leak or radiate cold air once it is closed. 2. Collar design prevents any animal not wearing a “high tech collar” from entering the house. 3. Door slides closed without power to ensure pets are not caught in door- Dogs easily push door back up. 4. Dogs love personal access to their backyard whether to smell the air, check the weather, go potty, or play outside at their leisure. 5. Size of medium door great for my pugs as long as they don’t exceed 28lbs. Door is not easy to enter for pug that was 30lbs for a short time. Here are some issues that could be better: 1. Collar last about 12 months. 2. Collar Battery last about 3 months. 3. Door has worked great for the first 18months. After that, my door’s interior sensor light began flashing and door intermittently fails to open from the inside. 4. Door can be temporarily disabled by a pet continuously looking out the door for more than @ 5 min. Door returns to normal operation once pet looks away from door. Unfortunately, pets already outside cannot get back inside until the indoor pet stops looking out the door. ... show more

  • Bought in 2018 and still works great
We moved to a wooded neighborhood and wanted a doggie door that would open and close automatically to deter opossums, raccoon, snakes from coming into the house. This door has certainly done that and the dogs adjusted to it after only a few tries. We have friends with dogs who stay often so we bought additional sensors for them to use and we keep plenty of extra batteries on hand. It has been nearly 5 years and we haven’t had any problems with it. The only negative is the included thin collar but we have engineered a way to attach the sensor to standard collars so that’s not a problem anymore. ... show more

  • Much much better than regular doggie door
Relatively easy to install. I had a handyman to put it in, but he made it look easy🙂. Did need a 2x4 to build a frame for it. The collar is smaller and sleeker than I thought from the picture. Top of the line fancy stuff with this dog door. It has easy to access levels of sensitivity for the inside and outside. So it can be programmed for how close to the door you want the dog to have to be before it opens. We are working the sensitivity down as they get used to it. The best thing about this door is that it is airtight, or much more so than the usual floppy door with magnet. I've lost heat and cold air for years with the usual floppy dog door. This dog door has two actual doors, that slide up. You would have to buy a lithium battery for back up if you wanted to. I would have a pro put it in, but that's me. ... show more

  • Greatest invention ever!
I have had the PX-1 Pet door since March 2022. We didn't have a nearby plug in so I bought the batteries and charger. I absolutely love this thing! My dogs learned how to use it within moments. With the batteries I never need to worry about a power outage. My yard is fenced in chain link, and my dogs go in and out whenever they want to. My wife and I have learned to constantly look at the flashing lights as we pass the door to detect when a battery is low. The door will continue to work just fine when the battery low light is flashing. We simply swap out the low battery for a recharged one. Recently I bought some fresh batteries from another supplier for way cheaper than Hi-Techs. That is my only complaint about the whole system is the batteries on the collar needing to come from the manufacturer. I did invest in the MS-5 transmitters because they are weather resistant and testable with a button. The batteries seem to last 4-5 months. I just buy a bunch of them at a time so I have one to swap out. I would definitely repurchase this door. When this one wears out and the user replaceable parts don't make it work I'm buying a new one of the same type. I've heard nothing but bad things about the newer Wi-Fi versions of this door, so I'll stick with what I know works. ... show more

  • Love
My little rat terrier likes it comes in and out of the door all the time

  • Best thing we’ve ever bought
Giving it a 4 because come on.. the cost is cray. But as much as we spent in boarding when we left town we figured it saved us tons of money in the long run. Works very well, my dogs are 11 & 12 years old and actually adapted right away . Don’t love the bulky color but the dogs don’t seem to mind.

  • Broke after 9 months.
Worked great from May 5, 2023, until Jan 15, 2024 (9 months). Purchased March 21, 2023, but I had to have a custom door made for my Laundry Room and then install this item. Collar batteries don’t last long but that’s the only complaint I had until today. Today the plastic interior under the cable pully broke and the door was stuck in the up position. Really cold outside because of snow and sleet; therefore, I was lucky that I was stuck at home today. Normally my family room is 68 degrees and Luckly I notice that the temperature had dropped to below 60 degrees. This tells me that the Pet Door had been stuck in the up position for a very long time. Please see attached pictures. After examining the product, the pully system is a bad design. This flexible plastic under the pully is not strong enough to handle the strain placed on the door being raised by active pets; hence, only lasting for 9 months. Must look up the warranty information and hopefully I didn’t purchase a very large Paper Weight. Again, I love the product, but this is a bad design with the pully system. ... show more
