  • Easier than handheld gas unit
Style: Leaf Blower
This backpack unit (possibly all backpack units) is easier to use for long running cleanups due to no centrifugal effects fighting the left - right swing of the nozzle compared to the handheld units. The centrifugal effect is caused by the rotation of the fan which wants to hold the fan in the same plane. Since the backpack fan stays in pretty much the same plane compared to the left - right swing of the handheld units there is less torque effect. Over time, the torque on the arm adds up. When only a nozzle is doing the left - right swing, there is no torque to overcome. As for this particular unit, it starts easily so far (5 times used, 2 tank fulls), is very powerful, has a good range of speed, and is not overly loud for a blower. ... show more

  • Husband is happy with the blower
Style: Leaf Blower
The blower is powerful. It runs on gas. It blew the leaves and pine straws from the lawn in a great distance. The husband is very happy with the. Lower. It was easy to start. It was comfortable sitting on his back. Very durable. Great blower for the money.

  • Very powerful
Style: Leaf Blower
The media could not be loaded. Really like this leaf blower. Almost too powerful, even in idle mode. Comfortable straps and sturdy construction. Good hand grip and love the extended tubing. Started right up. I mixed 50-1. ( 3 cups gas to 1 tablespoon oil) My only complaint, as a woman, is it's a bit heavy for long usage and for that reason, a waist strap would be helpful on the next model for lighter built individuals, and it's loud. Good value though. I would recommend. ... show more

  • It's not perfect, but it's better than 4 stars
Style: Leaf Blower
If I could give this machine a 4.5 star rating I would. It's not perfect, but it's better than 4 stars, hence MY 5 star rating. I refuse to error on the lower side of life, and will always be a glass half full kind of person, so take that as you may. I've only used the machine 3 times in the week I've owned it. A few things that I REALLY LIKE about the machine. A. PRICE. I paid 196ish... for this backpack leaf blower, at the time of this review, and it is the cheapest I've seen. 1. Overall look (black and yellow) for me is very appealing and SHARP. What can I say? Aesthetics are not near as important as function, but I.M.O. this is the best looking backpack leaf blower on the market! It just looks good. 2. The backpack is lightweight and I've used it for MULTIPLE hours with ease of use, and overall comfort. 3. The gas tank allows the machine to run on heavy use for a long time. It lasted at least an hour and half full bore, and more like 2 and half on moderate use for me. 4. The response from the trigger is instant and easily adjusted and maintained with cruise control. 5. The hose is screwed together and will not come apart easily like other blowers I've used in the past. 6. The backpack itself is fairly compact and easily stored. The minor annoyances (not bad) just annoyances. 1. The directions to put the machine together are about as good as the charmin extra soft you use to wipe your @** with. It took me 15 minutes and it should've taken about 3. For goodness sakes people why don't companies jump into the 21st century and just post a youtube video of one of the company members putting their product together out of the box? Would it be that hard? 2. The machine is LOUD. The backpack is right by your ears. You will probably want hearing protection, but it is a 48 cc engine and you have to sacrifice a little loudness for the extra horses to run. 3. The machine has fired up for me every single time using the instructions to start it. Instructions read "pump the primer bulb 6 times, pull choke out, pull cord three times, pump 4 more times, pull 3 times and push choke in".... or close to that.... you see where I'm going with this. It's just like every other 2 cycle engine out their. They sometimes can be a pain to start. I haven't had any issues with it, and if memory serves correctly .... it fired up after the 6 pumps and second pull ,all 5 or 6 times I've started it now, but time will tell if it remains easy to start. I'd love to see some kind of electric start, but for under $200.00 that will probably never happen. 4. The power is tough for me. It does the job well. I've been able to move fairly large piles of leaves, small sticks, and very small rocks at moderate distances.... but I guess I just figured with a 48cc engine, at full bore, I'd need to brace myself for the amount of force coming out.... This is not the case. It's powerful enough to get what I need done, but I wasn't WOWED by all the power. I'd love to see the test results of the box stated 200MPH. 5. I wish poulan made some kind of wall storage, for this unit. It's kind of tough to stow because the extension is long and obtruse. None of these minor annoyances are worth taking a whole star off. I love the machine and hope it lasts me many MANY seasons. I will update the review if needed. ... show more

  • Not very powerful at all and only worked a couple of times before it would not stay on
Style: Leaf Blower
Just got it today and have to say I'm pretty disappointing. As others have said the assembly instructions could be better, but no big deal, you don't really need any, it's pretty easy, but I can see how if you are not the handy type, it could take a while... but my main beef with this thing is that I bought it because I wanted something a bit better than my little electric blower, something with more power...for $200 I expected better...and frankly I think my little electric blower has a higher speed and volume velocity than this thing, at full throttle well., yes it will blow the leaves of my drive way, but just about 2 or 3 feet in front of me...not very powerful at all, I can easily move leaves up to 6 feet away with my electric blower. It's nice not to have to drag that cord around (another reason why I got this) but that's not enough, I expected more power and I'm pretty disappointed with it. It did work right and was easy to start (just a couple of pulls) you do have to turn the choke immediately off or it'll stall. but other than that it started rather easily. Update: I had given it 2 stars initially... I noticed the second time I used it that when I press full throttle it started dying... I thought it could be the muffler (if they gave me a reconditioned one instead of a new one it could be clogged)...I realized reading the manual, it comes with a "sealed/non serviceable" muffler...so nothing I could do...by the third time I tried to use it, it would not stay on. It would just die on me...useless. I followed the instructions to the letter and the gasoline mix I used was made as directed (which is the same one from my other tools and works fine) so it has to be a defective machine. Definitively going back! ... show more

  • Fantastic
Style: Leaf Blower
This backpack blower is very powerful. It’s comfortable and it works fantastic. It’s very easy to start and it will blow leaves like you would not believe even wet ones. If you were in the market for a backpack blower, I highly recommend this one.
