The media could not be loaded. I purchased the Betta SE Plus and returned it for the cheaper “Poolpure”. First one had a glitch, and would spin in circles and I was sent a replacement. What a pleasant surprise . This is a great example that more expensive is not always better. The Poolpure skimmer is a performer. It has my pool sparkling clean everyday. No more manual skimming. The only negative is I wish you could remove the basket without having to take the skimmer out of the pool that’s the only reason it gets 4 stars and not 5. Other than that I I am very happy with the performance so far. It is far better than the Betta SE Plus in terms of cleaning capability. If you are looking for a skimmer that actually cleans and does not deposit residue from the basket back into the pool this is the way to go. I’ve only had it for 8 days so I will update if something changes but, so far this thing is a beast and gets the job done the right way! ... show more

    • Twin motors failed
DONT BUY. The Skimmer worked well for 3 weeks. Then right motor failed 3 day outside the return window. There is a 12 month warranty however it was a struggle but Amazon and/or the manufacturer offered replacement or credit. I took the refund credit, I did not want to take another chance on POOLPURE skimmer. I do thank Ann customer service for much help in resolving this issue. ... show more

Wish I would have done this earlier, but this solar pool skimmer is fantastic. Just turn it on and come back around 30-40 minutes later and all of the debris from our neighbor's tree is gone. ❤️ this product!

    • Stopped working after four months
We loved the machine...until it stopped working! It did the job that none of us enjoy doing, skimming the pool. However, after having it for just four months, it completely stopped working. I've tried contacting the manufacturer via email, the only contact info they have on their website, and they have never responded back to me. This robot cost us over $300 and for it to only last a few months is absolutely unacceptable! My recommendation....DON'T BUY IT!! This company does not back their product! ... show more

after been fully charged and our pool in on direct sun light for at least 12 hours, skimmer doesnt preform as advertised. does a somehow descent job picking up bugs and leaves

    • Useful & Cost Effective
I don't know where I've been all these years. Solar skimmers have been around for awhile now. But as soon as I heard of them, I wanted one. My 24' round above-ground needs a lot of tending due to all the trees in the yard (I love my pool but I love my trees too!). As you can imagine, the debris piles up. The fact that these solar powered skimmers can run for hours convinced me. There's no suction, but a huge motorized scoop with a large mouth that gulps almost everything in its path. It's got radar that keeps it away from the sides with a screen that's easy to pull out and clean. Its twin motors work independently to turn the skimmer in any direction, even in reverse if necessary. The paddle wheels at the front could be a little bigger. They pull in small bits of debris but larger floating leaves get pushed out front. Eventually though, it gets those too. More expensive solar skimmers will do mapping and come with a remote control. This one is a good looking if basic piece of equipment with good documentation. It can run for hours in the sun picking up almost everything that's floating on the surface. And there's wall charger when it gets cloudy. None of these gets it all, but given sufficient time, this one gets most of it. Just turn it loose and watch it happily motor away! ... show more
