this one replaced my old one…probably 20 years old and refurbished multiple times. I had some problems first with this one but then adjusted the setting from I to II and now it effortless comes up from the deep into the shallow part and when he hits a corner or the wall he turns after a while and keeps on going. One thing though….in the manual they say to connect the leaf canister between the first and seconds part of the hose from the front ( there is a drawing) but that did not work for he at all. I have it connected to the second at the end and everything is fine. In my book I call this modell BUSY 🐝. ... show more

Worked properly for a day. Then the hose constantly tangled because it stopped turning left. The feet wore out. Hayward offers no warranty or service. Our previous crawler lasted 5 years. This was $350 down the drain. Do not recommend.

The pool vac came with everything needed to set up the pool vac. It’s nice looking and I had it set up and cleaning the pool in 15 minutes.

    • My first one lasted over 8 years. This is my second one.

I actually paid a few extra dollars to keep my first Hayward navigator going, but it lasted me for over 8 years. However, recently whatever I tried to fix it, I would have had to turn it in again for maybe another $100 fix. So, we decided to just buy a new one. And, it turned out to be the best thing. This new Hayward navigator is working the way the first one did 10 years ago. We kept the old one for parts. The old one was just not moving right. This one goes up the pool sides (once adjusted properly) and goes in circles all along the pool to make a complete cleanup on the bottom. The price seems a little hefty to me for such a simple product ($350), but when there's nothing else out there to do the job, I guess you just have to pay the price.
