Knives are wonderful. Smooth clean lines and razor sharp. Nice weight and balanced edge for clean straight cuts with no drift. The large wood block with magnets in it is barely held onto the slightly wider base. I shot wood glue in around the point of contact and wiped it clean again. Then painted that with some stain colored sharpies. Also make sure to put the knives on the sides very parallel. Or lead contract with the back of the knife first. If the edge of the knives touch first it will cut clean through the thin stain coating. Both due to the very sharp knife, and the very second hand construction of the base. There were only 7 steak knives in the package. The steak knives, shears and sharpening tool were the only items that fit in the slots. The knives are beautiful and sharp but the block is worthless if it can not hold the larger knives.
