I have a cat that just needs to eat small portions of kibble at a time, and with working long hours I needed an automatic feeder that dispenses small portions and does it reliably. This feeder works well! It is only my first automatic feeder so I researched and read a lot of reviews and price points. I finally took the leap and bought this one. It holds way more kibble than my cat needs, but the locking top seems to keep kibble fresh and keep cat out. My cat is not too bright or curious or determined so I have had no issues with him trying to reach up into the chute to grab food or pull the top off. Recording feature I don’t use (I just recorded a second or two of silence). Husband and I hated the recording feature (first nite at 11pm made us wake up with a start). Due to the difficulty I experienced with programming, I’m not sure if there is a way to bypass recording, but I was bright and curious and determined enough to figure out recording a second of silence workaround and will leave it at that! Cat loves the sound of kibble hitting the bowl, comes running. However, programming the six feedings and portions was challenging to say the least. Almost returned product in frustration but one afternoon I sat down, watched some YouTube videos on how to do it, and persevered and in about an hour achieved success! Gold star for me for sticking with it and graduated to the next step which was testing out my program to see if it really works as hoped. I was home that day and it worked like clockwork. Military time is used, for example 1pm afternoon is 13:00 and so forth in a 24 hour cycle. It was easy to map out a feeding schedule and write down the corresponding military time on paper, then program the feeder for 6 feedings with smallest portion each time. With this feeder my cat cannot overeat too much too fast, and I am assured he gets fed properly even when I’m not there. I’m so glad I didn’t return this product in frustration as it has been working flawlessly for several months! Minor annoyance is that the buttons on front are really hard to see, and blue light is bright enough to almost be a nightlight, so keep that in mind if it will be near where you sleep as you may or may not like that. Noise of kibble hitting bowl calls the cat, and you may or may not like that sound if it disturbs your sleep. Our cat’s 11pm feeding is just around our human bedtime so I may reprogram for an earlier time so it doesn’t wake us if we hit the sack a little early. But the ease of cleaning and overall functionality make this one of my favorite purchases. It is really useful and I would not want to go back to worrying about missed feedings. My cat needs small portions throughout the day and I rely on this product. You can program larger portions and/or fewer feedings, what ever works best for your cat. The price makes it a good value. The media could not be loaded. So far, I love this feeder. I bought three. I’m really happy and relieved because I had been looking at automatic feeders for over a month and ended up buying some that I had to return because my cats were able to get extra food out of the food dispenser. Two of my cats are a little chunky, so that was one of my main concerns when getting another. Pros: -Very secure! My cats haven’t been able to get food out of the top and they haven’t been able to get food out of the hole where the food dispenses. They stick their paws up there and try to get food out and so far, no extra food has fallen out. I even saw another review that said their cat learned to knock the feeder around and extra food would fall out, so I was nervous about buying these, but I haven’t had that problem. I even shook the feeders around to test it and it was fine. But if you do have a very determined cat, I’d suggest getting some Velcro stickers for the bottom of the feeder to hold it in place so it can’t tip over, because they’re on the smaller side. -Food dispenses at pretty much the same time. I bought three for my three cats and all the food dispenses at the same time, if not one or two seconds apart. -Very sleek and modern look. Most automatic cat feeders are 4 liters or bigger, so I like that this one is smaller and doesn’t take up so much space. -Rechargeable batteries. You can choose to keep the feeders plugged in and charging while using them, or you can unplug them and have them off the charger. -Battery life. I’ve had the feeders off the charger for almost four weeks now and two of them are at 40% and one of them is at 50%. So the battery life is really good. -App is very user friendly and easy to use. Also, easy set up, as long as you switch your WiFi over to 2.4ghz. Once you set up the feeders, you can switch back to 5ghz. I was having an issue at first with the app. The food would dispense on time throughout the day and then it wouldn’t dispense again starting the next day. I kept having to go back in the app and manually turn them back on. I was so confused. I thought I had them set to all days of the week cause in the app it says “repeat” and then lists all the days of the week. I contacted the customer support and they were super helpful and they told me I need to actually tap the days of the week in the app to get it to repeat lol🤦♀️ so they work great now and dispense at the right days/times. There are many more pros, but those are the main ones that stood out to me. Cons: -If you have multiple feeders, I wish there was a way in the app for the “feed now” button to dispense food from all feeders at the same time. Or I wish there was a way when you’re setting up your pets schedule, you could select all feeders and set them all up at once. Instead you have to do each feeder individually. -Portions. The portions are a little weird. They go by 1/24ths. I feed my cats blue wilderness and each portion is approximately 30 pieces of kibble. Sometimes it’s a little more, sometimes it’s a little less. Nothing major though. I do wish they had better portion options. I like to give my cats a “late night snack” and the first portion is too small, but the second portion is too much. These are definitely not deal breakers though. The pros far outweigh the cons. And as long as the feeders keep working as they should and I get a few years out of them, I will be very happy!! ... show more
