Pattern Name: With Wireless Pump
I've gone through several water fountains for my cat, and this has been the most expensive option so far. However, it's also the ONLY water fountain that checks every box on my list. Benefits: - Stainless steel. Generally, I like to avoid plastic because it's more porous, so it traps bacteria and slime much quicker than stainless steel. I do wish that ALL parts of the fountain were stainless steel, including the dish at the top where my cat drinks from, but most of it is stainless steel. - Easy to clean. The app tells me when I need to refill water or change the filter, which is super helpful. I usually like to clean out the water fountain every time I change the filter, and I like how the fountain can be separated from the powered base. Definitely convenient for cleaning. - "Smart Mode" can turn to fountain off for 3 minutes and on for 3 minutes (or however you customize it in the app). This is a feature I didn't even know I needed! I love that I can see how much power this fountain uses, and I think using Smart Mode can extend the lifetime of this water fountain for even longer. - Quiet. I've used a few water fountains that are just annoyingly loud. This fountain is basically silent, but still has enough water flow/activity to draw my cat to it. Could use improvement: - The app does NOT support sharing for this water fountain. I have the PETKIT automated litter box, and I'm able to share that app info with other members of my family, but for some reason the app doesn't allow me to share this water fountain on the app. This definitely needs to be redesigned. - Again, I wish that the plate on the top was stainless steel and not plastic. - Does not come with USB-C adapter OR backup batteries. If you want to buy this item, make sure you have a USB-C cord on-hand, as it's the only way for the fountain to get power. Overall, I recommend investing in this water fountain, but I do hope that PETKIT improves on some of the user experience aspects if they're going to set such a high price point on this product. ... show more

I’ve had a half dozen fountains in the past 15 years or so. The previous generation of this fountain without the wireless motor was by far the best. After a few years the motor started to struggle somewhat so I went to go buy a new one. While shopping I noticed they had a newer one with a wireless motor and that got my attention. It works great and the wireless feature was worth the upgrade. It makes cleaning and refilling much easier. Haven’t bothered with the app and probably never will. ... show more

    • Two Steps Forward, One Step Back from Eversweet 3
Pattern Name: With Wireless Pump
I ordered this to replace my Petkit Eversweet 3 fountain that was having some pump/wire issues. Coming from the Eversweet 3, some of the big selling points on this unit for me were: 1) Wireless pump. No more wires that get in the way and may eventually fail when being bent around so much when cleaning the bowl. 2) The top portion has a finger lift, making it easier to remove to clean. 3) The wireless pump has its own little foam filter, which does appear to help keep the pump cleaner. The bluetooth capability is a nice touch, but doesn't play a major role in my use of it. Like my Eversweet 3, the fountain works great and helps keep my kitties from making a mess with the water (they like to play in water). Where this fountain does better is when it comes to ease of maintenance. It is a lot easier to remove the top stainless bowl out now that it has a finger lift on the side. The pump is wireless, making it bother easier to clean the pump as well as the bowl. The pump has its own filter, which is a bit of a double edge sword that I will get into later, that does help keep the pump internals cleaner. It is a great fountain to own. Now, having said that, I am about to get into some negatives that most people may not have considered unless they used to also own the Eversweet 3. Cons: 1) One of the big steps backward on this newer model is that it doesn't have a backup battery to continue to supply water if the power goes out. That was one of the main reasons I bought the Eversweet 3. If power is out for an extended period while you are away, this newer fountain is not going to be able to supply water to your kitties. The little plate on the top hold very little water and the remaining water is inaccessible to the kitties. 2) The separate foam filter on the pump clogs easily. It is small and, as such, it can clog up easily from slime buildup, reducing water flow. I find that I have to clean the filter more frequently to keep water flow from being negatively impacted. I would order more of these to have them on hand to swap out, but I can't seem to find them to order separately. 3) It would be nice if the top plate was metal or porcelain instead of being plastic. This is the same complaint I had with the Eversweet 3. 4) You have to supply your own USB power adapter. This was the same with the Eversweet 3 and I knew this when ordering. Luckily, I have quite a few lying around. So while not a huge negative, just something to be aware. Overall, I am very happy with this new fountain and it is a step forward from the Eversweet 3. I just wish it had a backup battery and that the foam filter on the pump didn't clog as easily (or at least be able to offer replacement filters). When I ordered it, I thought it had backup battery capability, assuming that it being an upgrade from the Eversweet 3 that it would have been a feature that carried over. I’ve previous used Pioneer Cat stainless steel fountain. Only one cat like to use it, so I have to use ceramic water bowl for my second one. I always supply purified water for my fur baby, but the old stainless steel always start to make noise after the water consumed only by half. It doesn’t matter if I use filter or not, old or brand new. I finally decided to look for a new design fountain but still use stainless steel materials. I have used PetKit auto feeder for years so I naturally want it from them. Brought this newest smart version in December 2023, after a month usage I decide to buy another one. What I really like about it: 1. Ultra quiet when pumping water, I basically hear nothing. I leave one in my bedroom, and it doesn’t bother me at all during night. 2. The design makes it able to supply water until the tank is almost empty. Literally only after the water level below pump itself, which is <10% of full tank. This is the huge improvement after switch from Pioneer Cat. It means I only need to change water once a week. 3. I only need to carry the water tank itself for cleaning and refill, without dragging the whole line and plug. So much convenient. 4. Ultimately, both fur baby loves it! They don’t need to adapt at all, which it’s wonderful news. For the price, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a water fountain that is made of stainless steel and with all features that make you life easier! ... show more
