Living in California, I use this fan to bring in cool air in the evenings. I was pleasantly surprised how much air this thing moves. It does produces a decent amount of noise, especially in the highest setting. I use it in an adjacent room and window, at the lowest setting when I sleep.

When I ordered this, I was a little grumpy that the price was so much. The last box fan I bought at Walmart was a little over $20 I think. Then again, that could have been 10 years ago. Lol This fan is designed to look pretty slick. I like that it's black, and while it is a little loud (which, let's be honest, most fans are), The strength of this fan is incredible. I live in a 2-bedroom apartment where there is a large in-wall unit air conditioner in the living room. My bedroom however, is down a long hallway and is the last bedroom at the end of the hallway from the living room. To add to that, my bedroom has two very large windows in it. So I already don't have great insulation and it's cold in there in the winter, and hot in the summer. Last year I had bought a different fan off of Amazon that was a round metal fan that sat on the floor. That thing's even stronger than this box fan, and incredibly noisy, but I always keep it at the beginning of the hallway in the living room pointing down the hallway. I had an old Walmart fan that I had pointing into my bedroom from the hallway, but honestly this year and possibly last it didn't feel like the fan was blowing anything anywhere. Even on high. Yes, I could have tried cleaning the fan. I paid $20 for the fan, and that would have entailed using tools to get to the fan to clean it. And quite frankly I was just too lazy to do it. So I opted to order this one. And I have absolutely no regrets. I'm actually laying in bed right now (recovering from surgery), And the fan pointing into the bedroom from the hallway is so strong that I'm actually chilly. I just put a blanket on. I really didn't believe that this would cool down an entire room, but it does. We generally prefer box fans anyway, but I won't be buying any others. I'll spend the extra money on this because it is worth it. It pushes air toward way more area than just directly in front of it. If you're even sort of in front of it you can feel it. We also haven't needed to put it at anything more than the lowest setting -- it does plenty with just that. My only complaint would be how loud it is, but honestly that's just a trade off for how powerful it is. Again, worth it. Ours has taken a few hits and it doesn't seem to be damaged in any way. I really like this fan. I have two; one stays in my dinette/kitchen window and the other alternates between bedroom and living room. I'm thinking about getting another just for the bedroom, even though it's light and easy enough to move around. I live in a vintage apartment building with no air conditioning, windows are the only ventilation. The fan is pretty loud on the highest setting, but I don't mind because it works so well for me. Its primary use is to pull cool air into my apartment overnight and in the early morning, so I can get through summer by shutting out daytime heat for the most part. Of course when lows aren't so low or don't last as long, it's less effective but that's not the fan's fault. It's still the best match I've found for the purpose, I'm just sorry I didn't try it sooner. Initially, I was quite impressed with the fans, particularly in terms of their power and volume. When I first started using them, they delivered a strong and satisfying airflow that filled the room, making them a great addition to my space. I found myself consistently relying on one of the fans for daily use, while the other one was reserved for occasional needs, such as when I had guests over or during particularly hot days. However, after extended periods of use, I began to notice a significant decline in their performance. While they still produce a considerable amount of noise—perhaps even louder than when I first purchased them—the airflow they generate has become disappointingly limited. It’s frustrating to realize that you can only feel the air if you place your hand directly in front of the fans. Beyond that narrow range, the airflow is weak and fails to provide the cooling effect I had hoped for. This has led to a growing sense of dissatisfaction, as the fans have not lived up to my expectations. The excessive noise they produce is not only distracting but also counterproductive, especially when I’m trying to relax or concentrate. The combination of being overly loud and ineffective has made me question the value of my investment in these fans. On a positive note, I do appreciate the adjustable feet that allow for easy placement in windows, which is a thoughtful feature. However, this small benefit does little to offset the drawbacks I’ve encountered. The inadequate airflow, coupled with the high noise level and the absence of a top handle for easy transport, has left me regretting my decision to purchase these fans.
