  • Keep it flamed up for 10 mins upright before laying it horizontal.
Style: Hexagon Tube+Cleaning Brush+silicone brush
I use this in conjunction with my pellet grill pit boss 820xl. The first time i tried it, i failed because I didn't keep it going long enough when I started it. You need to use a good propane torch to get it flaming good. Stand it upright with a full tube of pellets, light the top so it keeps a good flame and leave it like that for about 10 mins. then gently put it on its side, it should be smoldering at this point, you won't need to blow a flame out. You can use this to cold smoke as well since very little heat is produced. If you use a pellet grill for anything other than smoking, you're not going to get a lot of smoke. This helps. Some users even use two at a time. Consider that if you want something super smoked. ... show more

  • For the price, just order two.
Style: Hexagon Tube+silicone brush
Two of these have turned my propane grill into a smoker. At the lowest single burner setting, my Weber maintains 180-200F. With the addition of two of these smoke tubes, it has become a safe and effective smoker. If your "smoker" ( and I am no longer a fan of smokers) lacks smoky flavor, at this price order two of these and you won't be disappointed. My pellet grill was set at 180 F and kept pumping pellets until the firebox overflowed causing temperatures in excess of 600 deg F (the maximum reading of my controller). Not only was a $70 brisket destroyed, but it would have continued adding fuel to the fire if I hadn't been sitting 10 feet away from it and disconnected the power cord. If your propane grill is capable of maintaining low temps (180-250 F), purchase two of these smoke tubes and you will have a very effective and more importantly - safe smoker. Propane grills with two of these smoker tubes are a safe and effective solution ... show more

  • I should have bought one long ago
Style: Hexagon Tube+Cleaning Brush+silicone brush
This smoker tube works great. I just received it yesterday and used it for the first time today. I have. Traeger Junior and this it works great I’ve always had trouble getting enough smoke to make meat taste smoky. I did a brisket today and the color, taste and bark were as good as when I used a real wood chunk type of smoker. I filled it once and it lasted four and a half hours, using a mixture of oak and pecan pellets. Enough time for that rich maroon, almost black bark to develop. It’s kind of sad I didn’t buy when I first read about these. There’s a lot smoked meats that could have been the next step up. ... show more

I have a cheap electric masterbuilt bullet smoker. I simply could never get the chips to smoke longer than 10-15 mins at a time and I was having to relight the chips and babysit it ALL THE TIME. I tried EVERYTHING to get those chips to smoke. I was convinced I was just going to have to pony up several hundred and get myself a “real” smoker if I ever wanted to smoke my own meat. But I stumbled on this product from a comment someone made in another forum and figured that it was worth a shot, I could always return it if it was a dud. Bought from pellets from Walmart since they’re half the price as on here. Lit my pellets with a creme brûlée torch since I don’t have a regular butane torch. I worried it wasn’t going to work as it was windy and my flame kept going out, so I wasn’t getting the coals I thought I needed, but I kept at it, relighting it over and over for about 5 minutes. Then placed it in my smoker. I had steady smoke for over 5 hours! I could have cried! Every time I took a peak out my window, there was still smoke coming out the top of my smoker. Husband was beyond delighted - it’s really the first time we’ve enjoyed owning a smoker and this cheap little tube was all we needed! Hallelujah! ... show more

  • Works great! Tons of smoke!
Style: Hexagon Tube+Cleaning Brush+silicone brush
I was a bit skeptical at first but thought I would give it a shot. Forget a match or a lighter. I had to really get it going with a butane torch! Got to learn the timing a little better not knowing what to expect. Once going it produced a ton of smoke for a good 5-6 hours! I needed to smoke something for about an hour so this thing still making tons of smoke even with the smoker turned off. So looks like this will work well for cold smoking which I will attempt next. ... show more

  • A must have for jerky makers.
Style: Hexagon Tube+Cleaning Brush+silicone brush
I bought this to be able to cold smoke different items. Recently, I began making my own beef jerky. Filled with hickory pellets and smoked for 5 hours. When I went to start dehydrating my jerky, the house was filled with a wonderful smoky aroma that I’ve only had at some really good BBQ joints. The jerky came out great! ... show more

  • Works great. So much so I bought another one.
Style: Hexagon Tube+Cleaning Brush+silicone brush
Just used this to smoke a block of cheese. I filled it up with my pellets (mixed blend) that I use for my regular smoker. I used my "Mapp" gas lighter to light the pellets in the open end of the smoke tube. I guess you could use a bic lighter. It would just take a long time. Once they lit, I blew out the flame and let them smoke. I smoked the cheese (cheddar/colby) for about an hour. The cheese had good hard skin on it and wasn't sweating. I only used about 1/4 of the pellets. I bought a second one as a gift for a friend because it works so well. ... show more

  • Works great!
Style: Hexagon Tube+Cleaning Brush+silicone brush
I ordered this days before Thanksgiving 2020 to do a dry run in my electric smoker. I didn't have the smoker running, but I did have the vent opened at maximum. I just wanted to see if it would last at least the 5 hours if was intended to. I filled it up with pellets then used a food torch lighter (the one for creme brulee is what I used) to catch the pellets on fire. Any torch will work for the pellets, but you need some type of torch lighter. A hand held lighter for cigarettes won't work. So after about a minute, I could telI that the pellets on the end were smoldering and on fire. I turned off the torch and I let the fire sit for about 30 seconds then blew it out. Alot of smoke was coming out already so I put it in my smoker then went inside the house. I did this at about 6pm, and at about every 30 min, I checked on my security camera to see if there was still smoke. (It was about 40 degrees outside). There was still ALOT of smoke by the time it hit 11pm. It looked the same as if it were just lighted. For the price compared to others, I'd highly recommend. ... show more
