The product seems good quality and well made. Once I got it in it looks great and will see how it holds up. Warning there are absolutely no instructions and it doesn’t seem to even come with the parts you need to install in slightly larger windows. Luckily I had some long machine screws and nuts on hand to set the top panel to the right height. It’s a little uneven though and nothing seemed to fix that unless it was flush with the bottom part which would be too small for the window. Would recommend some foam insulation tape around the sides too which im glad I had on hand as well. Would have been much more frustrated messing with it to get it in and needing to run to the store half way through, so get the parts before you begin the install. ... show more

Very sturdy and well-madel, however not adjustable height aside from 2 metal plates to remove or keep. An excellent cat door for a window, just watch your measurements closely. The "adjustable height" was an "or" not a sliding scale measurement for height.

The window does what I need it to for my cats to enter their catio. I like that it has glass to fill in the space above the door & has a cover so the cats can't go out when I don't want them too. What I didn't like was that it needed weather stripping to seal all around the insert and that it has no insulation between the the pieces of metal or around the pet door frame. Air blows in from around the door frame & insert without sealing. It took a lot of extra work to get it weather proofed & fitting correctly. Really easy to install in my horizontal sliding window, fit perfectly in the opening. As other reviews indicated, the security door is a little tricky to open at first, but once you get the hang of it works fine. I got it so my multiple cats can come and go from my back deck to my dining room window (near their food in the kitchen). However, since I have recently had issues with creatures of the night (raccoons and possums) frequenting my back deck and steps, have been careful not to leave it open at night -- they love cat food, too, and are not shy! Also, my cats are of the larger variety, and though they can use the door, would probably be happier with a larger flap/opening. I really need a "fat cat" version (no offense to my cats, but they are quite "fluffy.") I placed a table outside the window and one inside to create a landing spot so they can more easily get in and out. My doors all have glass in them, so I was not able to install a door in those, so the window was my next best choice. I already have a different cat door in a double-hung window on the front of my house so they can come and go from my covered front porch, and they happily use that one all the time. ... show more

Very poor assembly. In my photos the flap was put on so crooked that you can see outside! The pet door nuts weren’t tightened and all had fallen off. Luckily two were still in the box so I could put them on. It was assembled with normal screws instead of thrums screws as it was supposed to be! Window isn’t insulated and doesn’t come with a sweep so cold air pours in behind the window if you don’t add one. For “Tool-less” installation we needed a Phillips to fix the off center flap, a nut driver to fix the door, and a flat head to expand the top. ... show more

I wish the cover for the door was a little bit easier to get off and on other than that this product is absolutely amazing. I really don’t have any complaints besides I have to duck tape the plastic protector cover on when I don’t want my cat going outside because it doesn’t seem to stay on properly.. otherwise it’s perfect & it still gets the job done! This thing is amazing. It fits more than perfect in my window. The top "locking" mechanism has spring that push it up into the top of the window, making it a secure fit. Then you tighten the knobs and that's it! It tool me longer to get the box open than it did to install. After reading the other reviews, I knew the inside cover of the cat door would be tricky to get off. But, if you push in the center, it's actually fairly easy. I was worried upon immediate inspection that my overweight 14 pounder wouldn't fit, but he goes in and out easily. He thought he was pretty hot stuff, being able to go in and out as he wanted. I made a catio out of wire shelving, fake grass for walking on and a lot of zip ties. He loves it and I am thrilled with the final result. I might have to get creative as winter approaches since I live in MN, but for now, this is perfect!! ... show more
