I've had this Innostage since June 2021 and I think it's great for the price and what it does. The bottom of the pit is a little warped and rusted, but that was my fault for leaving it out in rain or snow a few (like 3 or 4 times). The performance is unaffected. It takes some time to understand how it works and how to get an effective, albeit short, fire going. Overall, it is smokeless for the most part and puts off a good amount of heat. You get about 30 minutes for a fire and 20 of it is roaring - depending on how many pellets you add. Rule #1: NEVER add more pellets to a roaring fire or smoldering ash. You will release a smoke monster. Rule #2: NEVER EVER add more pellets to an existing fire or smoldering ash. You will upset your guests and significant other. Pour in the pellets to about more than half way, but under the little inside holes. Next, spray some lighter fluid, light and enjoy. That's really it. And follow the 2 rules above. When all you have is smoldering ash left, you can use some metal tool (like a hoe) and push and scrape the ash around the bottom to force it into the catch basin thing below. After that, you can add more pellets and repeat the process. Just be careful redoing the lighter fluid since the ash below can reignite from below. ... show more

I loved the 8 inch size as it's perfect for the space. This little fireplace can burn wood or pellets. Love to roast hotdogs and marshmallows! The sturdy base allows airflow and easy cleanup. A zippered case keeps all pieces and my forks in one convenient place.

I knew it was the smaller one so that explains why it was half off on Amazon as most folks want the larger ones. Nice built pit and was perfect for my small class B RV as storage is scarce. You probably need to use wood pellets as it's too small for chunks of wood. Nice carrying case too.

I really like this firepit and recommend it, but two things to know right of the bat: 1. Get a pad for it if you will set it on a table that is not metal - This thing can get hot. I got this one and it works great (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HW7SY91/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1). That said the heat dissipates quickly after the fire is out. 2. Starting a fire in these can be a bit of a process due to the way pellets ignite (They need some supervising). I paid $6 for 40lbs at a home improvement store. Easy set up, works well and throws off heat. The size is nice for two or maybe 3 but you need to be fairly close to feel the heat. smokeless works well and easy to dump out ashes and pour wood chips in for the next fire. Very happy with it.

The media could not be loaded. Great quality product. Looks great when flame is full. Made very well. I bought this for my small camper van. I love that it's compact and easy to store and set up. I would recommend using fire starters with the pellets. But was exactly as described. As you can see from the photo and video I did use a fire mat under it. The video it fire with just a small layer of pellets to test it, the more pellets the larger and larger fire. If you have to add more pellets do it when there a strong secondary fame... if you wait too long it cause the fire to go out and smoke! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Just testing this.out in the backyard before camping with it. I loaded it at a bit less then the recommended 2 inches of pellets. Fired right up with some paper and burns nice and warm. Minimal smoke, I'd imagine with a full load of pellets there would be hardly any smoke. I'll get some fire gel for camping to get an even light. So far I'm happy with this purchase, and to not have to chase down firewood when in developed camp spots. ... show more
