DECT systems offer clear, secure and interference-free signal strength up to 1500 feet. more than the length of four football fields, and twice the range of comparable monitors. Anywhere in or outside the home you can clearly and continually keep tabs on your child. The Panasonic Baby Monitor includes a bright 3.5-in. color monitor and easy controls that sync to an improved wide-eyed, wall-mountable monochrome night vision camera in the baby's room (The system is expandable up to four cameras). the video camera can be controlled remotely to pan, tilt and zoom the camera from the baby monitor to look in on your child anytime. Improved long-life, built-in battery charging in the monitor stores power for up to 13 hours of standby time and up to 5 hours of power for continuous use. A smart motion sensor alerts you when the baby is awake or crying. A temperature sensor alerts you if the room is above or below a range you set. When activated, sensors sound a chime, illuminate a LED on the monitor and display notifications on the monitor’s screen. Microphones and speakers in both video camera and baby Monitor enable 2-way talk with anyone in the room. And you can play gentle, soothing sounds that include five types of White noise and a choice of lullabies. Notices: 1500 feet achievable in straight line-of-sight. I have used this for 9 months now, I was worried after reading some negative reviews before I bought it of saying how the battery is bad, how the whole thing died after only a few months of use, etc. However, I am pleasently surprised, when I put my little one to sleep in the evening I sometimes stay up for a really long time and the battery holds out for around 4-5 hours. Night vision and picture in general is good, nothing over the top, but not needed for the schere purpose of knowing if the baby is still asleep or has woken up. Sound is good. You can pretty much adjust every and anything. It has music that can play remotely, change camera angles remotley (if your little one wanders around the crib like ours), you can adjust alerts as well. The only thing that might be off is the thermometer l, sometimes it shows a higher temp by 5, 6 degrees, which can be confusing at first, just keep an eye on that still. Maybe it's just ours that has a slight malfunction, but the settings for temp alerts can be changed as well. All in all would totally recommend, it's a reasonable price compared to others and has worked well so far. ... show more

Update: We must have received a dud, or maybe one that someone broke and returned and it was packaged up and sent out. I bought a new one just to see if it was a fluke, turns out it was. This monitor is phenomenal. The range is excellent, everything about it is excellent. I don't have a bad thing to say about it. The range for us turned out to be about 180 yards with multiple walls of interference. It's been close to a year with the replacement and it works as if it was brand new. Will buy for future monitor needs as well. This camera worked wonderfully for 3 whole days. I was so impressed with the video quality that I kept taking pictures of the screen. I included a daytime and nighttime picture of the screen. After day 3, either the camera or the screen completely crapped out. I either get lines through the screen such as in my included picture, a black screen, or a screen that has messed up contrast to the point you can’t see your child. I have rebooted everything multiple times, and it will work again for a day or 2, and then I have to do it all over. My breaking point was when I was watching the monitor and it had perfect clarity, and for no reason switched over to all the lines. There was no change in light or movement in the room, baby was completely asleep. Absolute garbage for the price. Very disappointed as we needed a long range monitor and this one had the best reviews for that. Will be returning. ... show more

After our Infant Optics DXR8 finally died, we decided to replace it with this model. This model has a few extra bells and whistles we haven’t used. It works fine for our purposes. I like that it has optional noise and movement alerts as well as modifiable temperature alerts. It feels sturdy and well built. It’s frustrating that there’s no feedback from the unit when you turn it off. With our old Infant Optics monitor, you’d press the off button and it would show you an off screen. This model just goes dark the same way it does when you turn off the screen, and there’s no power off indicator. When we talk with our daughter using the mic, she always has a hard time hearing us, whereas on the Infant Optics, we could have full conversations. I wish there was an off switch on the camera. I worry I might damage it by just pulling the plug daily without letting it power down, but it seems really wasteful to just leave it turned on all day when we only need to use it at night. The range is supposed to be very far, but I find that I’m at one out of three signal bars when I’m up one flight of stairs from my daughter’s room. ... show more

Product works well , until it doesn’t. Especially liked the long range capability and various levels of “alert” for movement and sound. Unfortunately, all it has taken (twice) is a drop to the floor from a low height and then the monitor is broken. This time the power button no longer functions, as if the little drop shifted things internally so easily that the button no longer engaged. With young kids and busy parents, things will be dropped , get wet , be thrown, but I would expect a little more durability than what we’ve experienced. We love this camera. So I have an owlet and love the sock with it but the monitor sucks. I hate that you have to have the app open to see the baby and if wifi is down no seeing them. This monitor is so easy to use. We have a 2 story house and have had no problems woth connecting. We have even went outside and it finally disconnected a good ways away. ... show more
