...this does not work to contain my petite lab's drinking problem!!! Remington is like a hippo feeding on plants in the middle of a watering whole. Water flows out of her mouth everytime she comes up for air and it goes everywhere!! Her 100lb brother, Sherman (aka Tank) drinks ever so daintily - like a cat, so he's not the issue. Mama Rigby flicks water on the walls, so this mat can't help fix her water problem. Rigby needs a tented bowl! From what we can tell, when Strawberry Shortcake (Remi) drinks, water is soaking through the neoprene, as the floor underneath the mat ends up wet. I don't know what else to try short of putting her water dish in the center of a kiddie pool! Which is not a solution for the breakfast nook! This thing, even the large is far too small!! It absorbs water well, but apparently the amount my girl little dribbles is just way too much for the mat to handle, Don't know what else to try...maybe there is a way to fix my dog??!! ... show more

This mat is absorbent and is quick to dry. The more water spilled on the mat the longer it takes to dry but it will dry. You can watch the drops dry right before your eyes. I just wish them came in a larger size as you can see his food and water bowl barely fit on the mat and it looks strange not to have both on the mat. I hope in the future they can make these in larger sizes for big dogs. ... show more

    • Small than expected, but effective!
Ordered this to put under our dog's water/food bowls...he's a big dog so there's always a mess under there. It definitely does the job of helping that stay contained! I thought it was bigger than it actually is...I think that would really make it more effective, but it does definitely do what it is supposed to and absorb water very well. It's easy to put in, easy to clean, and kind of a cool design too. The only issue with it is that I wish it was larger as I feel this is really not a "one size fits all dogs" mat, so that's why I took off a star. But otherwise, it's fantastic! ... show more

Just needed a little something extra close to the source / next to the water bowl for my golden retriever, as she always dribbled after drinking. Won't be able to fix the dribbles as she walks away, but this will cover where its the worst, saving my engineered hardwood floor. Very absorbant, is performing the intent I was going for. Price is about right, not good not bad ... show more

This is a pretty good pet mat but it's on the small side so it's better for cats than dogs (it's about 12" x 18"). I use it under my cat's food and water bowls and it fits them perfectly. This dog food mat dries very quickly. The mat feels like it's made of some sort of foam and our water dispenser digs into the material and leaves a indentation in the material. The mat stays put very well and doesn't move around thanks to the bottom coating. Overall the mat is very easy to clean and dried fairly quickly when your dogs spills water on it. ... show more

I started using this mat a few days ago and so far so good. The absorbency is great because my cat loves to splash water everywhere when she drinks. The texture of the mat also helps because it grips the food bowl and plate while she eats so it doesn’t slosh around.
