I never used to understand the people who returned cat or dog food because their animal didn’t like it. I fed a premium food, and my veterinarian told me no healthy animal would starve her/himself. Well, now I have 2 older cats with health problems whose lives are dependent on eating an Rx diet. One cat has Chronic Kidney Disease and needs a low protein diet. My older guy has chronic gastritis, is on daily antibiotics, and needs a bland diet. He decided his housemate’s food is the perfect choice. Everyone with a dog or cat has learned the hard way that pet foot prices went up A LOT during and after the pandemic. So, here I am, spending a fortune on canned food at $3.19 per 5.1 oz can (!!!), and dry food at almost $11 per lb. The cats love the first couple of lbs in the 3 lb bag, but even though I seal and roll the bag, enough air has gotten to the last lb in each bag that they don’t want to eat it. With as much as I’m spending on food and veterinary bills, I can’t afford to throw out a lb of Rx food every month, as well as the small amounts of canned food left in the dish. This Oxo container is supposed to hold 3 1//2 lbs of cat food plus a space at the top for their enclosed scoop. That means there are a couple of inches of air before the first serving of food, and additional air space after every bowl. This allows more air to get to the food than sealing and rolling the bag! Though it is a good looking container that will work well for some, it’s not the answer for my household. I decided that two 2L containers with snap-on lids are the best I can do. I fill one container completely to the top, snap on the sealed lid, and save it as the 2nd part of the bag. I start feeding from the other container as soon as I open a new bag of food. The 2nd container is bigger than needed, but they are part of a set of 4 2L containers I bought for flour, oats, etc. I hope my cats cooperate with this plan to save cat food and cash! ... show more

Fits *just about an entire 3 LB bag of Costco jerky treats, when organized. Feel as if the seal could be a bit tighter. The pop gets stuck so you have to move it to the side for it to pop up.

But this is a great little pet food container. Super easy to seal tight, and open. It holds the amount of food I keep on hand for my pup. Its low profile makes it perfect for the corner where I keep his bags of food. Highly recommend!

Ah, loveable kitties. They watch for weakness and opportunity just like Jurassic Park raptors - waiting for the pantry door to be left ajar so they can attack the dry food bag in the middle of the night. This takes care of that problem. Funny, though, they are smart enough to know the button on the top of this container must be pushed to get the lid off - though the design is good enough that they can't actually do it. This is an awesome container.. I use it to store my Pet's dry food. It keeps the dry food its freshness. When I hear my kitten eats her food, it sounded crunchy. So I guess, all good!
