Very cool looking outdoor fan. I was looking for something modern and this worked perfectly. The power cable was long enough to run along the ceiling of my gazebo to the nearby outlet and everything works as intended. I've used both the app and included remote control without issue.

    • Great replacement for my outdated (and rusting) outdoor ceiling fan

I just recently had to have part of my pergola rebuilt, so I took that as an opportunity to replace the outdoor ceiling fan I've had on it for about 15 years. It had an older, traditional-looking style and it was starting to show signs of rust, on the motor housing, so it was time. I took a bit of a chance on this outdoor ceiling fan. First, at 20 inches, it was less than half the size of the approximately 45-inch ceiling fan I replaced, although I did like the more streamlined look. Also, I was replacing a Hunter (a ceiling fan brand I absolutely trust) fan with what is essentially a no-name brand. The main reason I decided to take a chance was the simplicity of installation compared to the older ceiling fan. For this fan, I just mount a hook and hang the fan from it...no junction box or electrician/handyman needed. This way, even if it didn't work out for me, I don't have to worry about the cost or effort of replacing it. Installation took only about 15 minutes, and most of that time was trying to figure out where to install this fan on my pergola. (Due to its smaller size, I didn't know if one would be enough, or if I would need two to provide airflow to the somewhat spread out 4-seat square patio table.) I decided to take a small chance on just installing directly above the table. Once mounted, there's a pairing process that needs to be done with the remote, which took me a few minutes to get right. After that, it was time to try it out. I was pleasantly surprised to discover this 20-inch fan could provide a good amount of airflow. Except for the hottest days, I'm sure I'd be perfectly fine at no more than the 3 or 4 speed setting (out of 6). I also love the lighting options! You can change the warmness of the white lighting as well as the brightness (several brightness steps that allowed me to go from fairly dim to very bright) easily from the remote. The remote also allows you to change the direction of the blades as well as set a 2-hour timer. You can also control the fan with an app. To be honest, I have no plan to use the app with this fan, since the remote is perfectly fine, but I did test it out for this review. The app requires a pairing process via Bluetooth, which took me a few minutes to complete. Once that was done, the app has similar controls on the functionality of the fan like the remote; however, the forward/reverse fan direction didn't seem to work on the app while it worked perfectly well with the remote (i.e., the problem didn't appear to be with the fan itself). So far, this fan has been subjected to several days of moderate to heavy rainfall, as well as a couple of instances of hail. After about a month, there have been no issues, so I don't have any reason to question its ability as an outdoor fan. Bottom line, if you want a modern-looking outdoor fan that is easy to install, provides a lot of airflow for its size, and comes with LED lighting and a remote, I'd suggest checking this one out. ... show more

I have to say this is one of my new favorite things. The instructions were clear, the installation simple and it works great! I wish the cord was a little longer, but it's easily fixable. It comes with a remote but it also has a phone app. The fan has 6 speeds and reverses, the light can be dimmed and changed to make it a warmer color if you want. It moves a good amount of air and puts out plenty of light. I love that its weatherproof too so I don't need to worry about it being outside. It's a fantastic addition to my covered porch and will be used a lot when spring/summer comes! ... show more

Over the years the husband and I have installed SO many ceiling fans it's ridiculous, but this by far was the absolute easiest! Just screw in the mounting hook/bracket to something sturdy, then clip the light to it and plug it in. The fan isn't terribly heavy, but it definitely needs something more than just sheet rock, and it clips to the hook like a carabiner, so it really is so simple anyone old enough to operate a drill can do it. There's 3 lighting settings and the fan itself really moves the air around more than I thought it would, plus there's a handy remote you can mount on a wall so you don't lose it. I installed this over where my work bench is going to go in my shop, but I could easily use this on my patio or in my office instead. I'm really glad I grabbed this and would highly recommend it!! ... show more
