The tap arrived with a broken handle, so I email the supplier. They responded within 24hr (probably sooner) and by the next day I had a tracking number for the replacement. The new product is good, and all is well. Excellent customer support!

It has decent quality, nothing feels cheap. It does the job I need it to and it works well. Ive recut several screws, taps, and nuts already which has made it pay for itself. Ive saved money recutting threads instead of buying new bolts and screws. The only downsides I notice is that this kit smells off. Kinda like ammonia or urine. Its faint but its there. Not sure if its the plastic or something they sprayed on to prevent rust. But its definitly close to ammonia smell. With it being so cheap I suspect the metal isnt very tough so using it for more than cleaning up existing threads might result in broken tools. ... show more

    • Chuck too small for some taps
I found that the chuck is too small for, at least, the 6-32 tap. I had to tighten the chuck with channel locks repeatedly to finish a relatively small job. I tend to tap smaller threads so this kit is almost worthless to me.

This was my first tap and die set. purchased it, opened it, watched a youtube video, tapped a metric M6 1.00. Purchased a screw at local hardware. screwed right in. amazing. all the things I stripped screws on and lived with it. My limited knowledge admitted, I think this is a good set for my needs. Solid little set, but lacks some of the qaulity you'd get with a higher dollar kit. The tap/die I used worked great for my application in my garage, but I have doubts about utilizing this kit as your "go to shop kit". For me, it's what I need for 3-4 repairs a year. They're better kits if you're a mechanic who needs tools daily, but this works for the handyman just looking to have a set on hand. ... show more
