  • Durable
Style: Multi-Spline Size: 25 Piece
I bought this set over a year ago and it has been amazing. I’ve used a wide range of the sizes and they’ve all worked for me. Most notable for me is the 1/8 size extractor; I had to use it to extract 56 screws out of an aircraft windshield and the picture shows it after that. Has some wear but I can still use it. Definitely has given me my moneys worth. ... show more

  • Broken off bolt in motorcycle frame
Style: Extractor Kit Size: 10 Piece
Bolt that holds fairings on broke off into frame. Firstly used automatic punch to start drill hole. Used this left hand drill bit set on reverse, lubed it bit. Used smallest and next size smallest bit. Did not break. I did have trouble getting the smallest drill bit out of the slot in the case, easy enough using some pliers to pull it out or pry par or flat head screwdriver to lever it out. Used with Amazon drill. ... show more

  • Works, but use caution on something critical.
Style: Extractor Kit Size: 10 Piece
The media could not be loaded. Works, but use caution on something critical. Working on a head gasket job, I had two bolts that broke off. One was in the cylinder head (BAD) where the front pulley mount attaches and the other was in the heater hose attachment going into the manifold. You will need a good center punch. First treat the piece to be extracted with some lubrication to aid in assistance. Second use a center punch to make a good divot in the center of piece to be extracted. Third, find the smallest drill bit relative to the size of the piece to be extracted and start drilling counter clockwise. Go to the next size drill bit higher if that doesn't work. If that still doesn't work, drill a 1/8" of an inch depth hole. Place desired tapered extractor into the hole and slightly tap in with hammer. Slowly rotate extractor counterclockwise by hand. You will need to use a wrench to assist. If it still isn't moving, you must make a choice to stop or proceed. I CHOSE TO PROCEED AND BROKE THE EXTRACTOR TIP OFF INTO THE HOLE!! VERY BAD!!! NOW I have a major problem. It has taken me 3 hours to remove the broken extractor and now my original hole is much bigger. Hopefully, I will be able to re tap and use a heliocoil to fix this. Verdict. It definitely works as seen on my posted video. The smaller broken bolt came out with ease using only the left handed drill bit. However, the extractors work but seem pretty weak and should not be trusted using tremendous force. Just be careful folks. When you break one off, you are in for a long ride! If you screw up like me, look up a heliocoil to fix your mess. ... show more

  • Very nice set!
Style: Multi-Spline Size: 25 Piece
I used my coworkers set and was sold! So I bought a set. Shipping was crap, as Amazon put this item in my mailbox, which is a big no-no, since it was not a USPS delivery.

  • VICTORY! It worked well and here is the proof…..
Style: Multi-Spline Size: 25 Piece
So pleased - a month trying to get this stripped bolt off and I was running low on transmission fluid! I don’t write many reviews but hoping this helps the next person. Ok so I had a very badly stripped differential fill Allen plug. Standard plug on a Land Rober SUV. This was semi stripped by prior mechanic and I just made it worse without the right tools. Tried the cold chisel method (you can see from photos I whacked the s&@t out of it and no luck. Bought the other stripped allen key versions on Amazon (the ones that have a slight twist in a standard looking hex/Allen to provide grip) and they just won’t get enough grip (not even close in my case so a big waste of time) if you were as badly stripped out as I was. No chance at all. I was really thinking I would need to learn to weld and go buy a welder to attach another bolt on which was going to be my last resort… Tried this and worked extremely well (was done in 20 minutes) with the following comments: As you can see from the photo I used the 11/32 size which fit about a third of the way into the stripped hex differential plug loose. I tap tapped it in gently with a 3 lb hammer to get it about 2/3 of the way in. You don’t need to be poinding it in hard since these have a slight taper which makes them slightly larger as they go further in. As you can see after massively torquing it at the end while successfully remove the fill plug it was ultimately seated about. 90% down. With the large 15mm sized head you know have a solid place to add a socket with a breaker or heavy duty impact. Other comments - IMO very little chance of this snapping off as I see others concerned about - I can’t attest to the quality of the metal but the size I was able to use makes it less likely it would snap. If I were to use the smallest 5-6 (9/32 or less) of the extractors provided I would be more concerned about putting a long breaker bar but at this size no issues. I ended up having to put a 15mm socket on a two foot breaker bar / pipe to get this to finally come loose. And once it did it was literally just finger screwing the rest of it off. Amazing how a seized bolt will hold until it doesn’t. I tried my 3/8 inch (air) impact gun before the breaker bar which is a low clearance since I didn’t have a ton of space. It’s like 350 foot pounds of torque so a mid range impact and it didn’t budge this differential plug although it MAY have weakened it up a bit so my breaker bar worked easier. Best of luck of luck to those reading this but this is the best of 3-4 methods I used and wish I started here since it was easy. Last bit of advice don’t underestimate how much torque you need to get one of these seized plugs off! And if you are in a tight area and able to use one of the provided extractors with some reasonable girth a long breaker bar is the way to go… ... show more

  • So so
Style: Extractor Kit Size: 10 Piece
Not sharp bits. Really hard to drill into broken off bolts. I didn't have any luck using this. I was in a tight spot trying to drill out exhaust manifold studs. It may be ok if you can get the item to a ideal work space and really put some pressure on the drill. Just didn't work in my application.

  • It works as it should
Style: Extractor Kit Size: 10 Piece
I found a broken bolt in one of the trunk support arms on my '46 Mercury. I'd heard about using a left-hand drill bit before extracting broken bolts, so I tried this set. I was pleasantly surprised that it worked, first time.
