  • As described.
Very nice tool set . Haven’t used it yet but appears well made and sturdy .

  • Good enough
I needed a set that included small metric fasteners. Since I only have need for taps/dies maybe a couple of times a year, I couldn't justify a professional level set. Yes, the case layout is inconvenient and the trays are flimsy , and as with all cheap sets, the handles are not of high quality, but I used the set within hours of receiving it to clean up a cross-threaded M4x.7 screw and internal threads quickly. Now that I have all the taps sorted into their proper slots, I'll CAREFULLY lay this on the shelf flat so they stay put. (About half were loose in the case from shipping when I received them.) ... show more

  • I expected less but got far more in quality
I am a machinist, and these are high quality for home and even for a business. I read the reviews and I find whining about the blow formed case very minimal reason. The readable stamped size is very comparable to all taps and dies .Even the high end MSC supplies are not any better at labeling .So get over that too. The way they ship with the taps on the bottom is the reason they fall out. When you get them reverse that and you will be happy for the rest of your days. DO NOT EXPECT THESE TO TAP STAINLESS STEEL. No taps do that very well. Tap oil is a must always. Special tap oil is required for S/S. Even aluminum require a different tap oil than mild steel. Taps break and it is mostly the users fault. If any part of this set is lacking its the handles .My experience with similar handles . The body of these can break , being cast white metal. The blow formed tool organizer, is an insert. Not the case, that is metal. ... show more

  • Hard to read some sizes and photo is misleading
For the smaller taps it was extremely hard to read the sizes etched on the shanks. The smaller taps arrived out of place jumbled all over the entire box since the case does not seal for edgewise or inverted carry. The smaller taps will all spill out of their size slots. If you are missing some small taps upon arrival, look under the die tray. Remove the clear plastic shipping covers and discard them and allow the shipping foam to press into the pieces to hold them in place. You might want to double up the foam on the taps. The main photo indicates the two trays mirror together when the case is closed like those tool sets in plastic boxes with snap in tools in the top half of a split clam shell type box. Nope ... the two trays are one above the other without finger relief side holes to pull either tray up and out of the metal case without adding another colorful page to your dictionary! The trays are flimsy molded plastic films very thin and bend under the tool weight. Very frustrating to remove trays to get to another or find missing parts under them. Put the taps tray on top as those are the most used threading tools in my career of using tap and die sets. I put a long piece of shipping tape with ends folded back to grab under the whole tray to lift them out from each other or the box. Duct tape will be too thick as tray puller handles. The spilled small taps will work their way under the bottom tray and hide. ... show more

  • case is trash
The parts in this kit are fine although the size spec is often hard to read. However the case is pure trash. Each part has it’s own unique well labeled place in a very thin plastic tray but the parts easily fall out of place. You might as well through all the parts randomly in a box and fumble through them when you need something. ... show more
