    • Its acceptable for outdoor use
While not totally corrosion-proof, but it offers adequate protection with outdoor use. I use it to lock my power sub-panel outside and under rain and outdoor elements it started to rust, but not to a point that it freezes with corrosion. A little WD-40 took care of it. Considering the price and ease of setting the combination I would recommend these for practicality. ... show more

UPDATED July 28, 2017: Ada contacted me about the locks after reading my review and we resolved the issue. Turns out there is a way to completely lock yourself out of the lock when you don't turn it the right way although in my case, the lock wouldn't turn much further after pushing it down. Ada sent me a new set of locks along with pictures and directions on how to reset the combination which worked out perfectly. I have attached the pictures if anyone needs help with resetting it like I did. Thank you so much Oria and Ada. Your customer service is amazing! ORIGINAL July 21, 2017 | I received both locks and they seemed sturdy, both opening with the "0000" combo. I tried to reset one of the locks and to do so, you have to open the shackle and turn it until it fits into a smaller slot to set your new combination. When I have the shackle pressed down and turn it, one of the numbers on the locks turns with the shackle. When I finally got it to stay in the small slot, I set the new combo, then released it so I could test it out....only to find that the new combo didn't take and "0000" doesn't work either. So now I have one lock that doesn't open to any of the combos I can think of. I even googled how to hack into a lock... it definitely doesn't feel easy to set a new combination. I'm not sure if this one is faulty or I had a hard time with the directions but now I have a lock that doesn't shut. I'm leaving one star because the other lock can still provide some protection (if at all) with the 0000 combination... the lock works, but changing the combination has been an awful experience ... show more

I had to reorder this product because one of the locks didn’t work the first time. I use this item on my locker for work so I access it most days of the week. The lock lasted less than a year before breaking

The lock itself is fine. The problem was only one lock worked. Setting the code was easy on the first lock, Then on the second one, after setting the code and locking it, it would not open, and there is no way to reset it. So I'll keep the ne that works and tossed the other one. Update - The Companies customer service rep, went over the top on working with me on the problem.. I think it was my fault I screwed up, but they still sent me 2 new locks no charge, even after I told then I was the one who messed up setting the code and didn't think they needed to send new ones.. They even checked to see that I was happy with the new locks. They care about there product, and their customers. ... show more

When I first took this lock out of the package, I found the instructions for setting your own combination to be very confusing and was unable to do it. I ended up using the lock on the factory setting, and it worked fine. After the initial use, I tried to set my own combination again, and the lock went haywire. The numbers on the dial started rotating when I rotated the shackle, and the lock started jamming in either the locked or the unlocked position. I just hung it on the locker to at least give an appearance that it was locked, and the body of the lock completely fell off the shackle. A rare case when a product is not just of poor quality, but a completely and utterly useless piece of junk. Wish I had tested it within the Amazon return window to get my money back. ... show more

I was hesitant to order these based on a few reviews I saw that they seemed cheap or that the combination was hard to set. I'm not sure if they changed the locks, or if these people are just confused, because the combination was very easy to set and straightforward, and for $10, they did not seem cheap at all. I recall one review that said you could probably bend the arm with your hand, and that's absolutely not the case. I challenge that guy to try. ... show more
