    • Not very stable, great customer service
I love this item, but there are a few issues. Really needs a bigger base, and should probably have 4 legs instead of 3, mine fell over and broke on a medium wind, nothing dramatic. You need to clean it regularly to keep it performing well, if it gets dirty the flame is pretty low. You can't keep it out as it may blow over, but it does not really turn off, you just empty out the excess pellets and it keeps burning with a low flame, so you can't put it indoors for at least 30 minutes as it keeps smoking. Do not pour water onto the pellets as it will stain the glass tube dark brown, and is very tough to clean. If you buy it, save the foam for the glass tube, and store the tube instead of the whole unit, as the tube cools down pretty quick and doesn't keep smoking like the base. Use a firestarter or tinder to light it, as it takes some time to get going. I had success with different pellets, and even the cheap ones worked well. Even with all the issues, it looks really cool and heats at least as well as the propane patio heaters. If I can get a replacement tube, I will, even if I have to pay. Update - I contacted their customer service, and they are replacing the entire unit for free, plus sent me instructions on how to get more out of the heater. Great customer service! ... show more

    • pellets fall out of the bottom
if I try to fill the hopper the pellets are just going to fall straight out of the bottom. The design has a gap that lets them fall out? unsure on how to keep the pellets in light the fire and not have the hopper go up. incredibly horrible instructions.

    • This is a neat little patio heater definitely draws attention from the neighbors
The media could not be loaded. For the price, this is a pretty neat little patio heater. Definitely like how the fire runs up the glass tube. The fins inside spin the air around the flame so it draws it up the tube. Very unique idea. Only a couple drawbacks but they are small. Biggest thing is is you would need to be aware of where you are setting it and make sure nothing flammable is on the ground around it as the ash as it burns falls out onto the ground. Really the only thing I can complain about but you could set it inside a metal pan and be just fine. Well worth the money. ... show more

    • Very cool flame, poor manufacturing QC/design, would be 5-star if fixed. Terrible documentation.
The gap out of the box allowed all pellets to fall through. They actually have a "trouble-shooting" section on the listing that recommends you take a pliers to the screen to close the gap. This helped, but I had to also cram some rolled-up pieces of aluminum foil to fully block the gaps. Seems like a major design or manufacturing flaw. The instructions included don't mention it, or how to light. I had the best luck using a "fire-starter stick" and also a propane torch to get it going, which takes a little while. Also a good tip from another reviewer; wait until the flame is going to install the glass tube to avoid smoke dirt on it. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought it used it 5 times the first 3 times were short fires about 1 hour or less .. then i filled the feed side up completely the fire burned for over 2 hours ,Then the second time was the same about 2 hours but the flame was not as high ,the next day when cleaning it I notice the upper and lower screening that allows the air in to create the flame high enough to be 12" out the top was melted due to the long burn time when full of pellets. Not Cool ! ... so what was happening is the pellets would fall through into the catch basin and burn there or on the ground . I'm looking into a return or exchange but amazon will only return $160 out of the $202 purchase . Not Cool ! ... show more

Pretty neat heater. The pellet container holds enough to last a while, it heats pretty well and looks cool. Only negative is that i would have liked it coming with some kind of metal pan underneath, as the ashes drops right on whatever surface you have. I used a grillmat so i wouldnt start a patio fire. ... show more

This thing is awesome but you will need a propane torch to light it and take a sec to get going and also DO NOT put the glass on till it’s lit. The smoke will cause a lot of unsightly build up on the glass and its hard to clean.

Burns a long time on a few pellets and mesmerizing to look at. Nice when you don’t want to mess with a fire. Only con i could think of would be cleaning the glass tube. I use the wood stove glass door cleaner with a towel wrapped on a small 2x2 board or whatever.
