  • A Game Changer in 3D Printing - Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro
Model: Ender 3 S1 Pro
The Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro 3D Printer has redefined my 3D printing experience entirely. As a hobbyist, I've used various printers, but this model stands out with its impressive features and capabilities. From the upgraded components to the user-friendly design, this printer has transformed my home 3D printing setup. I have used this printer for a bit over a month and below are my thoughts on my experiences. Features That Stand Out: High-Temp Nozzle and All Metal Direct Drive Extruder: The inclusion of a high-temperature nozzle and all-metal direct drive extruder is a game-changer. I can now experiment with a broader range of materials, including advanced filaments that demand higher temperatures. The extruder design also minimizes filament jams and enhances overall print reliability. I used various SainSmart filaments, many of which worked without issues. Flexible PEI Bed: Printing adhesion is no longer an issue, thanks to the flexible PEI bed. Prints adhere firmly during the print and pop off effortlessly once the bed cools down. This eliminates the need for adhesives and tape, saving time and ensuring a clean finish. Getting the leveling correct for the bed is where most people have issues with the adhesion. You want the first layer of print to be compressed enough but not too much to where the filament backs up into the nozzle of the printer. It is definitely a learning curve for anyone who is getting into 3D printing. CR Touch Auto Leveling: The CR Touch auto leveling feature is a time-saver. No more manual bed leveling frustration. The printer automatically adjusts the bed level before each print, ensuring consistent first layers and reducing the chances of failed prints. This works 95% of the time and only sometimes requires fine adjustments to make sure everything is leveled. Overall, a great feature to have with a 3D printer. Upgraded Build Volume: The upgraded build volume of 220×220×270mm provides ample space for larger projects. This expanded capacity has opened up new possibilities for intricate, larger-scale prints. This is a gamechanger when wanting to orientate prints in a way to make them stronger based on how the layers of filament are. Many 3D printers are too small in this aspect. User-Friendly Experience: Setting up the Ender 3 S1 Pro was a breeze. Creality's clear instructions and labeled parts made assembly straightforward. The user interface is intuitive, with a responsive touchscreen that grants easy access to printer settings and preloaded models. Print Quality and Speed: The print quality is impressive for the cost of the printer. The printer consistently produces sharp, detailed prints with clean lines and minimal layer inconsistencies. The direct drive extruder contributes to smoother filament flow, resulting in more accurate prints. Moreover, the print speed remains impressive, striking a balance between efficiency and quality. From my years of experience with 3D printing, many imperfections in 3D prints are due to the inconsistencies with 3D filaments such as varying diameters, humidity trapped in the filament, or potentially the actual type of filament used. Room for Improvement: While the Ender 3 S1 Pro is undoubtedly a fantastic printer, there's always room for improvement. The inclusion of Wi-Fi connectivity or an Ethernet port would enhance remote control and monitoring capabilities. Additionally, more filament options directly from Creality would be a welcome addition. ... show more

  • Great printer for the money!!!!!
Model: Ender 3 S1 Pro
Received this printer very quickly from seller. Set up was really easy. Came mostly together. Watched a few videos on setting it up correctly and started printing. Prints coming out really nice with a few minor imperfections. Kept reading more and learning to adjust my settings and now the prints are coming out amazing. I have only used pla so far but printer has been very easy to use and does quality work. I did have a minor issue where the extruder stopped working during a print. I found that the ribbon cable for the extruder was not clicked in all the way and worked it's way loose during a print. Once I found that, the printer was off to races again. I have been printing for almost two weeks straight with it, with out any other issues. Seller had great communication during my minor issue. I highly recommend buying this unit if your on the fence about a great, easy to use printer. ... show more

  • Great construction, amazingly quick, pain to repair.
Model: Ender 3 V3
The day-to-day printing on this machine is phenomenal. It's blazingly fast, print quality is great, and can handle all your basic filaments. If anything on the print head breaks, though, things spiral into frustration. As of late March 2024, there are no direct replacement parts available for purchase. You are at the mercy of how long it takes Creality support to reply to you which can be maddeningly long, all the while things sit inoperable. This likely will be a solved problem in the future (The V3 SE had no replacement parts on the market for months, either) but be ready for early adopter roughness. Keep an eagle eye watch for globs of death. Quite possibly the most frustrating bit is that Creality has once again decided to switch the thermistor connector to a different JST type. It's the same pitch as the V3 SE/KE/K1 machines, though, so you can pop the new plug housing off and put in the more sensible one. I'm also not a fan of the included spool mounting. It takes an otherwise compact Enter 3 footprint and balloons it out to the side. As this machine matures I expect there will be more sensible mounting options, just a bummer that once again it's on the community to fix the problem. As of late March 2024, Creality has released firmware that allows root and SSH access to the machine, so props to them for that. Despite the repair frustrations, though, I'm quite happy with the printer. People called it a Bedslinger K1, so I just set it up with the K1 profile in Orca Slicer and it's been great. ... show more

  • Best to Start Printing from
Model: Ender 3 V3 KE
I have been printing since I bought a Makerbot Replicator. I moved to the Ender 3 series 4 years ago and this was the best out of box experience I have had yet. No other purchases but the camera and some build plates that are optional. Assembly was easy and first print was great to see. You can see my designs on thingiverse as thecharacterg. ... show more
