  • Very capable printer
The printer is capable of 115v(normal household current) or 230v. Mine was shipped with the switch in the 230v position. The switch is in the back of the machine inside of a hole.

  • Fantastic print quality for the price!
I purchased this new KE model as my first 3D printer. It has not disappointed me. Setup was quick and easy. I'm not sure when this one was manufactured but it seems to be have been revised following some of the initial reviews about loose components and sloppy printing. Out of the box everything was tight and the gantry, hotend and bed were all where they needed to be. I didn't have to go through and adjust anything. The automatic bed leveling works very well. I've had this unit for a month now and not one print has failed by fault of the machine. I've only had one issue with the printer so far. After 70 hours of print time, the temperature control fan on the hotend started making a lot of noise while warming up. It seems the bearing is out of sorts? I contacted Creality customer service and they are sending out a warranty replacement. The printer still prints, I just keep an eye on it the print start to make sure the fan continues to work. ... show more

  • Fast Printer That Works Well
The media could not be loaded. I have one printer that I have been using the last couple years and wanted to expand my printing horizons. I picked this printer up as I do not have a Creality printer and this printer looked good. When I got it, I figured it would be a lot like my existing printer. Boy was I surprised! To begin, this printer was fairly easy to put together. It comes with everything that you need to construct the printer and it is already mostly together. I was able to build it fairly quickly and the instructions were clear and concise. I will make note that in North America, you need to switch the voltage to 115 on the back of the printer. If you don’t do this, your printer will shut off during initial calibration. Once I got the printer up and running, I used the preloaded calibration boat that comes on the jump drive. I am used to using Cura to slice and export my gcode for my prints, so I am having to adjust to the touch display that comes with this printer. I also had to learn a new way of running filament to the hot end and managed to get it set up fairly quickly. I had to preheat the head and manually extrude the filament to clear it before I printed the calibration boat. The speed at which this printer prints blew me away. I am used to a slow printer so this was quite a surprise for me. The boat took around 16 minutes to printer which normally would be 30+ minutes on my existing printer. What’s more, after I printed the boat, I printed another project that takes 8.5 hours on my existing printer to print. On the Creality Ender 3 KE, it took only 2 hours! I am ecstatic about this! I did have to download and install Creality’s software to slice .stl files in order to print with this printer. I am used to the Cura software so there is a learning curve. The touch screen and Creality software replaces my existing setup with Cura and Octoprint using a raspberry pi. I don’t mind this, but I now have to go through two different processes to slice and export projects. You can send projects using your wifi and the software which is nice. I am disappointed that I can’t use one of my existing USB cameras with this printer to record my prints. It is unfortunate that I cannot use my existing camera, but I will probably get a camera that works with this printer in the future. Overall, this is a great printer and is very user friendly. There is still a learning curve for people who are just starting out, so you have to do your research on how to print. ... show more

  • Great for those who don't want to fuss with the printer
The media could not be loaded. This is my 3rd 3D Printer. I started with an Ender 3 Pro as my first printer and I spent numerous hours, blood, sweat, and tears to install upgrades that this device already has. With the older Ender 3 devices the printer becomes your hobby and not producing parts and models. This printer does not suffer from that downward spiral and this is a great option if you want to actually print stuff. This device checks most of the boxes for features that I would recommend for people who are looking for their first 3D Printer or for those that don't want to fuss and upgrade from an older model: Linear Rails Direct Extruder Dual Z-axis with Sync Filament Run out Sensor Auto Bed Leveling Setup: Assembly took about 30 minutes. Directions were easy to follow and the amount of screws were minimal. I was able to calibrate it, update it, and bind it to my Creality Cloud account without issues. Make sure that you re-calibrate after you update the firmware, as the firmware update wipes out your bed mesh and z-offset settings. Printing and print Quality: There's pre-sliced Benchy G-code on the included USB stick. This device can pump out a 15 minute Benchy just like it's big brother the Creality K1. You can view the Benchy quality in the pictures attached to my review Make sure you install the Creality Slicer, as I have found you get the best print quality without a lot of fuss. It is missing some features from other Slicers, but if you want you want it to "just work" this is your best option. A Clockspring Torture Toaster came out okay, the tolerance tests were all fused, but the gears and other mechanisms worked. I threw the printer a curveball by loading Wood Filament and printed a very nice orchid planter. I did experience a SLIGHT amount of layer shift and I am not sure why. You can photos of the parts in the attached pictures. The printer is quiet and I don't have issues with it being in the office with me. I also own a K1 and had to move it to the workroom as it was way too loud. Printer quality: The parts are high quality, and they borrow the hot end from the Creality K1 series. The extruder is a different design and it appears to be the same one as the Ender 3 direct upgrade kit that they have started offering and that could be considered a good thing, as the K1 had issues with the extruder motor on it's release. This printer appears to bypass those issues. Downsides/omissions: Some of the menus aren't fully translated and have weird spacing compared to the K1 as they are running a very similar OS. You can see an example in one of the included photos. No camera is included, and if you want to stick to the Creality ecosystem the Nebula camera is the best option. One thing I appreciated about the K1 is there was a super easy mount location for the camera, this does not appear to have a place to mount the camera. Overall, I recommend this printer for people looking for their first 3D printer or an upgrade from an older Ender 3 Pro. Definitely do your research on youtube if you still have any doubts/questions. There's a multitude of videos and content that break down the features and functionality of this machine. ... show more
