I never have high hopes for knee braces as none seem to take away the pain. But after reading both positive and negative reviews of this item, I decided to try it (I had points so really only cost $5) so I thought why not. I am very happy I did as I have only worn it two days and notice a definite reduction in the pain in my knee. I have arthritis, and my knee cap is not where it is supposed to be. I've done the physical therapy route but that relief only lasts for so long and who has the time. I am a chef and am on my feet all day and I also live in NYC so I do a large amount of walking before and after work. Usually at the end of a shift I am in a lot of pain when I walk to the subway, limp a lot and can hardly walk up the stairs on subways and my home 4 flights (can't usually get up stairs without holding on for support). I felt so much better these last two days, walking my pain was reduced significantly and is around 98% better, up stairs it is around 90% better, and I didn't have to hold the railing. Plus it looks like my knee is less swollen. Squats no longer hurt which will help when trying to workout. It did slip down on my leg a little bit but not like other braces I have worn, I may have gotten to big a size but I was on the cusp of sizes so I went up. I can easily bend my knee with no issues from the side supports. I looked at another brand with straps but that seemed so bulky. Yes on this model the knee cap gel piece is a little big but I wore it under jeans and didn't notice it much at all. I say try it. ... show more

Stays up with no roll giving me excellent knee stabilization. I can wear this Neenca brace all day with no discomfort. This Neenca knee brace is cool, unlike neoprene, and allows my skin to breathe. The stabilization aids on the sides of the brace and the kneecap ring stabilize effectively. . Make sure you measure your knees separately to get the right size for each knee. if need be order separate braces for each knee in order to get the right size. My right knee was one size smaller than my left. My right knee measurement was 20.25 inches and the extra large fit perfectly. My left knee took an XX large brace. I purchased the higher end model. This is a very good sleeve. I have now used this for just over 2 weeks almost daily. The fabric quality is top notch. I deliver furniture and need something that doesn't slide or rides down on me, this does a good job but will ride down your thigh as it has very little inner rubber lining to help keep it in place. The stability is 3 stars. I don't really feel much stability from the two side stabilizers. As for the support, it is tight enough to around y leg to help support my knee, and not it isn't tight where you feel your circulation being cut off. The gel ring helps with padding when you kneel down but it is beginning to wear out and fast. This is very comfortable and there are times you can forget that you have it on, if/when it rides down/ slides on you. As a higher end model I would have thought it would have more of the inner rubber lining at the top edges, than what little was provided. Still, I think this is a good item I voted 3 stars but it is more like 3.5 stars. ... show more

A cursory inspection of the Neenca’s would leave one to conclude there has been a lot of design consideration put into these sleeves. They inspire confidence, although I cannot explain any of the design features of the item. So, left to my own experiences with these, I would begin by saying that I wear them daily, particularly when I am going to be active, i.e., biking, walking, yard work, etc. I don’t think I wear them more than twelve hours a day, and sometimes when I know I am just going to relax for a while, I’ll remove them. I seem to move more freely with them and with less pain. The doctors tell me I have stage four, progressive, osteo-arthritis in both knee joints. There is a lot of pain and some perceived weakness in the joint when I am active. My theory is that the sleeves more or less lock the joints in a position that maybe approximates what all the cartilage that I no longer have used to do. I think there is less grinding of the joints when I walk or bike than without them. And that means less pain which translates into better movement for me. And that’s pretty much all I know about them. ... show more

I got this to stabilize my knee to prevent further inflammation while waiting for ortho appointment. It really helped a lot, much better than lighter weight brace I had on hand. I really like the "T" at the top of the flexible plastic stabilizer on each side of the sleeve. It makes pulling the brace into place so much easier. My 4 star rating rather than 5 is due to the latex (?) in the grippers at the top of the sleeve. I have a slight latex allergy and after a few days my skin became irritated. ... show more
