Description

Work out to your full potential with the Bodymate compression brace for hips. Engineered to provide pain relief for sciatica, arthritis, pulled muscles and other hip and hip flexor injuries, this medical device provides the support you need to reach your max. Hip flexors connect your hips with your pelvic region. They are some of the body’s strongest, most frequently tasked muscles. They are the muscles responsible for bringing your knees towards your body, and are used constantly when walking, running, squatting and biking, to name a few. It’s not uncommon for these muscles to be strained, torn or inflamed. Athletes, dancers and manual laborers are all prone to hip injuries of various kinds, including labral tears, muscle strain, bursitis, hernias and joint subluxation. When such injuries occur, it’s imperative that you take the steps necessary to prevent further damage and provide your muscles the means to recover. The hip flexor compression wrap boosts circulation and leverages the abductor muscles to ease stress and speed healing after an injury or surgery. As with all medical issues, the first step is to consult a physician and diagnose the issue. A proper diagnosis will help you find relief faster. However, for most of these injuries, it’s not recommended to be sedentary. It’s important to maintain the health of the muscle so it doesn’t atrophy. This hip flexor compression wrap can give you the pain relief needed to continue to build and strengthen your muscles while you recover. Injured tissue needs oxygen to repair itself. The firm compression acts to reduce swelling and inflammation, which allows more blood flow to the area. More blood flow means more oxygen at the site of the injury, which restores the tissue and eases pain. Use the compression brace for hamstring injuries as well as hip issues. It offers gentle support to take the weight off hamstring strains and tears for faster healing. A sedentary lifestyle can wreak havoc on the hips as well. Sitting for hours on end causes the hip flexors and hamstrings to shrink and tighten up, causing pain and stiffness. The tissues lose flexibility and begin rubbing against bursae and bone. When you get up and stretch the tight muscles, it can cause micro- tearing and inflammation. Over time, this becomes chronic pain. Sitting for long periods also inflames the sciatic nerve, leading to pinching, burning and shooting pains in the leg as well as numbness and tingling. Age, obesity, diabetes and other factors can also cause or worsen sciatica symptoms. You can get sciatic nerve pain relief using a compression brace. It eases pressure on the nerve to allow the inflammation to subside. The Bodymate compression brace for hips delivers compression, support and pain relief for a wide range of low back, hip and hamstring issues. Its tough, durable neoprene construction easily stands up to hard use. Neoprene has a long history of being used on orthopaedic braces. Its elastic nature allows it to stretch, then retract to its original density, resulting in reliable compression. The material is highly breathable, so it’s excellent for use during workouts. It’s fire- and water-resistant and will maintain its flexibility in a wide range of temperature extremes. For low back, hip, hamstring, hernia or sciatica nerve pain relief, this neoprene brace provides the right amount of compression and support.

  • Sweet relief for sciatica / back pain
Style: Medium, Hip 32 - 44"
I genuinely love this compression wrap. I've been experiencing significant sciatic nerve pain for the 2nd time in my life recently. On a whim, I decided to search Amazon for something that might provide some relief, and after looking at several products and reading customer reviews I settled on this one. When it arrived, I immediately put it on, and Wow! You know that scene in The Dark Knight Rises, where Bruce Wayne has been to the doctor who told him he had no cartilage left in his joints and there was so much scar tissue that the doctor didn't even know how he was even walking around...but then Bruce goes back to the Batcave and puts on some apparently magic knee brace that somehow takes care of all that and allows him to fight crime as Batman again? Well, this compression wrap isn't THAT good...but it's close. It significantly reduced the pain I was in and allowed me to walk around again in relative comfort. It didn't get me back to 100%, but it probably does get me back to at least 85% while I'm wearing it. It also appears to be helping me recover quicker. Highly recommended if you are suffering from sciatica. ... show more

  • Keep These Things in Mind-After Reading Many Review for BodyMate
Style: Medium, Hip 32 - 44"
After Reading many reviews for a brace to help alleviate hip/sciatica and/or piriformis pain, these are some things I consider when I read them. Some people confuse reviewing the item with their experience of reducing their pain. 1-Pain in subjective, what hurts someone else may not bother you and vice-versa. Everyone's pain is unique while the general cause could be very similar leading to very different reviews of this item. 2-No one is mentioning their height, weight or overall health status. Factors like weight and limitations on mobility can really impact how much relief you will get. 3a-No one mentions what else they are doing for their pain. Are they taking an anti-inflammatory to coup with the discomfort? FYI-There was a time when you needed a script from a doctor to get an NSAID, but because you don't need a script now, people don't think of them as effective. Also talk to a pharmacist or your dr before taking any medications. 3b-Are you performing stretches that a chiropractor may recommend, especially to alleviate pain associate with piriformis syndrome? Again, consult with a health care professional before engaging in any activities. 4-Finally, you have to have a realistic expectation of what recovery/healing will look like. You may not bounce back to 100%. You could be living with pain for the rest of your life. It requires management, which will be monitored by a doctor. As far as the item-it is comfortable. I am a 31-32 waist and the >32 inch belt fits fine. It smells like what new neoprene smells like, so I don't know what to say to those who say it has a chemical smell. It is comfortable to wear. I will say that I wish the support on the back was a bit more rigid. I just pull it tighter. It costs 20-30 dollars, and as such I suspect over time with all the pulling one does on it, it will wear out, like our bodies did on us. It is helping with the pain/discomfort, but I am also taking some NSAID's, stretching and being mindful of what positions I am in that cause it to be worse. I consulted a health care professional about what pain medication to take, like you should too. Otherwise, I am physically active and not overweight. Just one of those things that happened randomly. ... show more

  • Relieves Sciatic pain dramatically.
Style: Medium, Hip 32 - 44"
This thing works great! A little uncomfortable to wear at 1st or if you put it on wrong but worth the money in spades. I have sciatic pain when standing still and can only last 15-20min before my leg is throbbing. The first day upon receiving the item I wore it to a concert and was able to stand for 2+ hours. I have used it for golf and can honestly say this thing really helps. On a bad day I will still feel a little bit of pain but the Compression Wrap keeps it at bay. I bought this item on my own and do not receive anything for posts. This is real. ... show more

  • Design flaws
Style: Medium, Hip 32 - 44"
I’m a size 14 wide-hipped woman, so maybe on someone if a different shape or size this would work differently. For me, it didn’t do much to help my hip pain, but I couldn’t wear it for long enough to give it much of a change. The Velcro around the thigh fastens towards your crotch area, so if your thighs rub together at all it will just catch on your other leg and tear your clothes. ... show more

  • Help with groin and sciatic problems
Style: Medium, Hip 32 - 44"
I am about to turn 76, play racquetball twice a week, golf in summer (winter sometimes - Bandon Dunes this January), cross country ski, etc. ie, I am active. I fell on my hip this summer and have a tight piniformus (sp.) muscle that is pinching my sciatic nerve. This belt is helping me walk while getting treatment. I know it will also help in the future as occasionally I stretch my groin. Getting old takes some help from time to time and this is one aid I recommend. ... show more

  • one of the best purchases that I've made
Style: Medium, Hip 32 - 44"
Honestly, one of the best purchases that I've made. I have been suffering from chronic hip pain/ sciatica for the past few months. I felt the difference in my pain immediately after wearing this. If you're dealing with sciatica, hip, groin pain I highly recommend you to buy this. Works very well.

  • Not practical in the least
Style: Medium, Hip 32 - 44"
I'm sure whoever designed this had nothing but the best of intentions in mind, but honestly it's really the most impractical thing I have ever tried to use to manage my sciatic pain. It's ridiculous to wear a brace on the outside of your clothing, especially as a female who needs to use the bathroom more than once every 8 hours. To remove this brace so I could use the bathroom is annoying to say the least. Also it's not very hygienic to wear it next to your skin either as it comes right up to the groin! Another concern was that when I tried to bend to apply it, my back pain would flare up. I really was hoping this would be helpful but alas, it was not for me. I promptly returned it. ... show more

  • Works well for jogging with mild groin injury
Style: Medium, Hip 32 - 44"
Didn't see many reviews that evaluated how the brace works while jogging with a groin injury. I found it to be excellent-no pain or discomfort from my leg at all. I really tore my groin muscle a few years ago and it was like I had been stabbed in the inner thigh with a knife (of course, I was 2.5 miles from home on my run at the time). Anyway, lesson learned-don't even try to jog lightly with a torn groin muscle. This time it was a slight groin tear and the leg brace kept everything in place during my jog. It was an excellent, excellent investment. recommend highly. ... show more
