I have neck pain when I turn either way. This device has a strong massage function, but would be much better if the head level was higher than lukewarm. Also, the supposed heating element is very hard and I now have a sore spot at the base of my skull. Again I love the massage, but now I'm trading a stiff neck for a sore skull which limits my use or the device. The design needs some improvement. ... show more

I'll start off by confessing that this thing confused me completely once it arrived. The included instructions really were no help at all. I finally just started playing with it, eventually figuring out a way that this works for me. Basically, putting it on my neck and putting my arms through the loopy-straps, I find that I have a pretty good amount of control of how deep of a massage I get. If my arms are up on a table or something, it puts just enough pressure on the unit for it to stay in place and give a fairly light massage. This is great for times when I'm really hurting. But if I put my arms in my lap, I can put more pressure on the unit, and the massage is definitely deeper. Moving my arms and moving my head helps to make the massaging action happen where it feels best. I also found that leaning over, with my head down and my arms on my knees is a position that does a great deal for my neck and upper back. I have not figured out at all how to use this with the belt-like strap. I think that could be good if trying to use this on your leg or something. I've basically just used it for my neck. I did try it on my feet, but I have pretty small feet (size 6 women's), and this just didn't seem worth the effort to me. The controls are great. You need to do a long push on the on/off button so you aren't likely to accidentally start or stop it. Other buttons require "just" a push. I love that it is so very quiet. This is a great neck and shoulders massager, along with legs, back and waist. Very easy to use, plug into a USB port by provided USB cable, let it charge up and then it's ready for use. The heat along with the massaging is great for aching body. Highly recommend.
