I originally purchased the Owlet- and ended up returning it within 2 days. I ordered the Nanit the first night with the Owlet and was immediately impressed! The camera was easy to set up, easy to install, the cord hider actually sticks to the wall, and the camera is phenomenal. Unlike the Owlet that has a sensory directly on your baby's foot, the Nanit has a simple breathing pattern that can go on via band or sleepsack (or even PJs! How cool). We transferred our baby into her room on Night 1 with the Nanit using a sleepsack. She stayed warm all night long, the camera notified us properly for crying/sound/movement, the breathing monitoring never glitched or stopped throughout the night, and no false alarms! I LOVE how the app has background listening where you can close the app and still monitor your baby. I lock my phone at night, but can still hear the monitor! I have woken up to my baby every time she has made a noise thanks to this feature. The sleep analytics are AWESOME. I love seeing the sleep onset, how long my baby slept, when she received help, when she was removed from the crib, etc. The owlet would record my baby as sleeping despite her sitting in her crib playing- which was not helpful. I have only good things to say about this camera and it gives me way more peace of mind than the owlet did. My baby loves sleeping in her crib- and I can sleep peacefully knowing she's monitored. 10/10! I will absolutely be buying another one for my next baby. ... show more

First of all, I’ve never owned a baby monitor, & I was stuck between this one & the baby sense… my husband chose this one because he loved that you get notifications to your phone. Upon setting up, which was very simple & straight forward, I’m so glad I trusted my husbands judgement! The quality is amazing! I’m able to speak to my baby through the camera & it has multiple sounds that can be played for your baby. The app itself is very easy to navigate & your can share access to whomever you choose too & it’ll greet you as “mom” or “dad”. I know it’s a bit pricey, thankfully I got it on Black Friday sale, but it’s definitely worth it! I 100% recommend. There is no lag to moment. I turned on the light to the hallway & the camera detected it. It also came with a belly band to monitor my baby’s breathing patterns. I’m definitely impressed & like I said, I wish I would’ve purchased sooner! ... show more

Not much of a reviewer - wanted to do this one. Recommended from friends and family to get the Nanit. Super easy hardware and mobile app setup. I thought it was smart to design the 'management channels' (the extended pole going from the base to protect and organize the wire going to the outlet). The image & audio quality is very clear, especially during night/dark settings. Initially, I thought this was just a high-quality video monitoring system. I didn't realize it provides all this data. I initially didn't think it was necessary to have all that extra data of when the baby falls asleep, when they wake up in the middle of the night, how long it takes for them to sleep, how quickly they go back to sleep on their own, etc...but I can see now how this can be really useful. Nanit also provides 'insight plans' to help with providing parents additional tips on improving quality, duration etc. Very useful for parents who really want to know. The video quality is crystal clear, even in night mode, ensuring I can always see my baby no matter the lighting.
