  • First impression: Whoo hooooo!
I've literally only ridden this once, but so far I'm quite impressed! I was looking for a very compact mobility scooter for my wife, that could double as a fun scooter and not settle for one of those huge, heavy monsters that require a hitch mount to carry and just creep around in slow motion. This checks those boxes nicely! It is very fast. I know it says 10mph in the description, but it seems way faster. The speedometer read around 18mph on my test drive. I don't know how accurate it is. Maybe it's actually in km and just said mph, I don't know, but It was plenty fast and I think I still had some throttle left. I was dealing with limited space so I couldn't go all out. I know it went as fast as I wanted to go on it on my first run and I'm something of a speed freak. It has three speed settings but my wife never got out of the first setting because it surprised and scared her how fast it was the first time she took off on it. She loves it though, and is excited about getting used to it and having that kind of speed at her command. You can go as slow as you want if you simply ease into the throttle slowly, but if you do like she did and crank it like you're on a Walmart cart trying to get to the dairy section, it'll sit you back in that big cozy seat and let you know that you've underestimated it. Yes, you do need to slow down for sharper turns, but it feels stable and the 3 wheel design allows it to make tight turns. This is a super fast, really fun scooter disguised as a mobility scooter so you can get away with riding it in stores. It came well packaged and was easy to assemble, but you'll need some Allen wrenches and a couple of crescent wrenches (or substitutes) that are not included. The battery slides out easily from the side after unlocking it with the key, or you can simply flip open the battery door (doubles as a handle for carrying it) to charge it while it's still attached to the scooter. It must have arrived mostly charged because I plugged in the battery first, and by the time I finished the assembly, it was fully charged. The brakes are good enough on the back wheels, but there are no front brakes, which would help a lot to stop faster, especially at faster speeds. The back brakes get the job done, but at high speeds you need to allow more time to stop... you know, like you do with pretty much anything else with brakes. There is no resistance from the motor when you stop accelerating like most mobility scooters, so it's just the brakes doing all the stopping unless you Flintstone it by dragging your feet. There is also a handy lock for the brake handle so you can sit still on an incline without having to manually hold the brake. The seat is big and comfy, and it's got plenty of leg room for me at 5'11 without being any bigger than it needs to be, so it can fold up into a small package. Even a small car can carry this. It also wheels around easily like a suitcase when folded. It comes with a nice little headlight, brake lights, fenders, and a horn. A button on the left handlebar toggles the scooter in and out of reverse. Thankfully, there is no annoying beeping sound when backing up. This one also came with a spring-up collapsible metal basket and a little round collapsible nylon carrying bag that were both very cool, welcome surprises. They both fit together nice and flat into the included pocket on the back of the seat for storage and easily hook on to the handlebars or seat back when in use (no tools or tightening required). I can't speak about the battery range yet, but whatever it is, I already want to buy a spare to keep the good times rolling. The short warranty inspired me to purchase the add-on two year warranty from Assurion. Unless this just dies soon, I expect to remain thrilled with this purchase. I'll update my review if I do have trouble. As it stands, we're loving it and recommend it to other fun-loving folks looking to check the same boxes we were. I wouldn't recommend it for young children or anyone too old to handle the speed. My wife is a young sixty years old, with a bad back and a fake knee, and so far it seems perfect for her. I'm thinking of getting another one for me now, so I can keep up with her! ... show more

  • Mixed feelings
Assembled ok, about 1.5 hours. The supplied manual is adequate with assembly instructions and operating info. Powered on ok. Arrived with full battery indicated. First test ride went 30’ and the power cut off. I checked for obvious problems with no luck. I called Amazon Support. The Amazon Service representatives were great. They offered a replacement after our discussion. Being a retired engineer, the next day I did some investigating. The battery fuse was blown which is located in a screw in plug on the side of the battery housing. Why blown? Undetermined. I installed a high quality 30A replacement fuse. The unit powered back on. I have since test ridden for about 30 minutes with no issues. So hopefully the blown fuse problem is not chronic? Hopefully just a defective fuse? Time will tell. First impressions:: 1. Build quality seems good, except for the fuse issue on mine. 2. Very fast. Using level 3 at 15 mph is a problematic safety issue. 3 wheel scooters are inherently tippy under some conditons and speed inceeases the risks. 3. It surges when starting from a stop no matter how careful with the throttle. That will take getting used to. 4. It has the usual 3 wheel stability issues if run on uneven surfaces or turned too fast. 5, The turning radius is large for a 3 wheel design. Not suitable for many indoor areas requiring tight turns. 6. The bakes are marginally adequate at best. A note with the trike says brakes adjusted for 120 lb rider. Readjust for a heavier rider. I readjusted and that helped, but not much. This speedy trike needs disc brakes and or electromagnetic brakes instead of just rear drum brakes. If you are unable to firmly squeeze a han brake consider a different scooter. Stopping distance is long even for a strong handed person. 7. It handled grass travel ok. But with no suspension the ride is jarring on grass. And if the grass area has uneven patches, the trike feels tippy as most 3 wheel designs do. 8. The ride on smooth, hard surfaces is pleasant enough. But the low seat height may be an issue for tall riders. i am 5’11” and the ergonomics are marginal. 9. The control display washes out in sunlight. The manual instructs how ro increase rhe readout brightness. You will want to do that. 10. It folds and unfolds relatively easily. The weight is problematic for loading into a vehicle for one person… it depends on your condition. 11. The seat cushion has a gap where it meets the back rest cushion. The gap is needed when folding. When unfolded, I am looking for an insert to use because the gap is not ideal for seating comfort. 12. The battery removes easily. Reinstalling is a little difficult because it slides on a two groove rail system which is clumsy to align properly. So the item is a mixed bag of good, but not perfect. The weak brakes is the issue that needs a redesign, an owner can only be careful with stopping by anticipating and squeezing the brake lever as tight as possible. Overall, in my brief experience, I am satisfied assuming rhe blown fuse issue was a one time fluke situation and I do not crash into someone or something because of the weak brakes.so 4 stars is maybe generous because of the weak brakes. ... show more
