  • Not worth the $
Style: 1 Camera (2021 Model)
I really wanted to like this monitor. The picture quality is great and it’s priced reasonably BUT there is a 10-15 second sound delay and the battery won’t last even 6 hours overnight which means even if my baby is sleeping, I wake up at 5am to the monitor beeping at me!

  • Disconnects to monitor after three months!
Style: 1 Camera (2021 Model)
We have gone through two monitors after contacting Motorola themselves. The original camera would disconnect to the monitor and we would be unable to monitor our baby. They ended up sending us a replacement and we returned the other. It is now four months later and we are running into the same issue again. Not worth the money or frustration. Other than that it gives great imaging and you can move the camera around. If you look at it through the app there is a delay and sometimes it is not accurate. ... show more

  • Not what i was expecting
Style: 1 Camera (2021 Model)
As a first time mom I did a lot of research and was excited about this monitor. It loses signal in my room which is literally 10 steps, if that, from the nursery. The temperature monitoring, which I was excited about, is awful. It keeps saying it is 74 in there, but it's actually 69/70. The battery life is terrible and I've only been using it for 3 months. It wasn't cheap and I got it as a gift, but I feel like I already need to replace it. I do not recommend this product. ... show more

  • Received as a gift from baby shower.
Style: 1 Camera (2021 Model)
I have used this baby monitor since birth and my baby is now 17 months. It longer holds a charge; the charging port doesn’t work. Even at a full charge, the battery life is horrible. It lasts about 4 hours then it starts to annoyingly beep until you plug it into the charger. The range is awful too. It loses connection when I’m only at the front of my house. I have never really used the sounds or lullabies on it because it was too difficult to control, like to turn on and switch sounds and volume. At that point, it would just wake the baby so that feature is pointless to me. I use a sound machine instead. I am now using a Blink monitor with the one because this one is so unreliable. ... show more

  • Useless after 3 months
Style: 1 Camera (2021 Model)
Within two weeks the parent unit completely died with a black screen, unable to turn on. Camera constantly loses connection to mobile app. Within 3 months the camera has stopped connecting to the app. Attempted multiple resets and reconnections. Unable to get anyone on the phone from Motorola for a replacement for thee parent unit so not even going to bother for the whole thing now that it’s just garbage. Here I sit at 3am with no monitor. ... show more

  • VERY limited directions cause much frustration
Style: 1 Camera (2021 Model)
The media could not be loaded. Update: The app is only getting worse. It takes forever to connect to the camera and there is a huge delay. I can now move the camera left to right but not up and down, however it is so hard to actually get the correct motion to move the camera, that it is hardly worth using. This arrived with the camera, monitor, 2 power cords, and a Quick Start Guide. The Quick Start guide takes you through the basic steps of charging before use, placement of units, and powering on. It also provides button operation for the outer buttons (not the on screen selections). Finally there is a QR code to download the Motorola app to your device. Once the camera and monitor were powered up, they connected immediately and the video popped up on the monitor. While my phone struggled to capture the quality of the video, and it is actually clearer than the pictures, it is not at all as clear as in the listing. I played around with the settings on the monitor. The lefthand side was fairly easy to figure out since it controls all of the interactions with baby such as lighting, lullabies, stories, and nature sounds. All functions work well. I have included a video of the nature sounds. The purple ring of lights on the camera, that my phone picked up are not visible to the naked eye. Next I embarked on the task to figure out the rest of the on screen options. I googled a manual for Motorola Baby Monitor VM85 and was able to locate one on a manual website (not a Motorola site). The landing page was some random page in the middle of the manual so I had to scroll through and deal with ads while I located the section I needed. I was able to learn what all the settings were as well as to use the "ok" button to remote pan, since the quick manual wasn't all that clear on that one. Next I scanned the QR code to download the app. Upon entering the app I had to enter my info, verify my email, and connect to my wifi. I followed the steps until I got to connecting the camera and the app. The app generates a QR code that has to be put in front of the camera. You have to turn on pairing mode by pushing a rectangular button on the back of the camera. It helps to have nails to do this. The camera announces when it is in pairing mode and you have to release the button. The camera wasn't registering my code and the app kept telling my that my phone wasn't connected to the internet so I played around with the app a few more times, then I turned on the monitor so I could see the camera's point of view. That worked and it connected on the second try. The app continued to tell me that I wasn't connected to the internet. I was finally able to solve that by disconnecting my phone from the internet. When I reconnected, I no longer got the error message. The app has been good for taking pictures, communicating, or controlling sound and light however I have tried everything I can think of and I can not get the remote pan to work, in spite of the pan arrows being there. This has been my experience with the app for Android on the Samsung Galaxy 21 Ultra. Overall once you are set up, the connection is great and the controls get simpler as you get used to them. I like that the monitor has a kickstand. If you can get past the frustration of setup, this can be a really good monitor. I would have given this 5 stars if my remote pan worked on the app and the directions were much clearer. ... show more
