It’s a Klon. It’s at a good price. The switching from hard to soft clipping makes this stand out from the rest. It does what it says it does. It’s a good clone. We will have to see how it last.

    • Sounds amazing, but square peg round hole
First the good. After seeing nothing but amazing reviews about this pedal I decided to get one. It sounds amazing. Absolutely nothing to complain with the tone. It just sounds amazing for the price. Very little hiss when the gain was maxed on my guitar with passive pickups. Didn't try with actives. So far definitely has less noise than my DS-1 or Big Muff Pi. Build quality feels about the same as every other small pedal this size I have bought in the last few years. Its fairly light and appears to be aluminum. Definitely lighter than the other pedals this size that I own. Would be nice if it had some rubber pads on the bottom to help hold it in place. Checked the box and nothing was in it but the pedal. Now for the bad. Got it out of the box and hooked it up, grabbed my guitar and hit the button and nothing. Checked my cables noticed the power had come loose, plugged it back in pushed the button a few times and saw the blue LED. All good, sit on the ground and picked my guitar back up and the light was out again. Checked again and power had come loose again. So I thought maybe it was just my power adapter since it was a new one I was using for the first time and maybe something was wrong with it, or the barrel size was too small. Plugged it into another pedal and it fit just fine. Swapped out to a Boss adapter, same thing. Every time you touch the pedal the power adapter falls out. Sometimes it falls out just sitting there. Tried a danelectro adapter same thing. Tried 2 different daisy chains I have and the same thing. The hole in the side of the pedal is round, but the actual power connector is square, so its recessed inside the housing by the thickness of the housing plus another 1mm or so. It will not hold the power adapter in. Since guitar pedals are negative center tap, the outer core of the adapter shorts and sparks against the housing when it pops out. At this price its not worth sending it back and I can figure something out to hold it in place even if I just wrap a rubber band around the pedal. If they would swap to a square hole and didn't recess the plug inside the housing this wouldn't be an issue. I have a few other pedals at this price point and this size that don't have this problem. ... show more

My new favorite overdrive. I like using it to boost my already overdriven tone. Really makes my lead tone sound fat and retains the original signal.

I bought this cheap Klone on a whim to stand in for my PDX Aluminum Falcon because I like it too much to allow something to happen to it and they seem to be becoming scarce. So far it provides a good boost for my leads. It seems like it’s a little big gainier than the Falcon so I’m still working on dialing it in. I definitely like the sound with the switch turned facing upward which I think is the original Klon circuit. The switch down seems to be brighter and less smooth sounding. ... show more

Sounds great especially considering the cost relative to the original circuit. Definitely recommend as “high value for the money” option. If you’re a tone freak recording in an anechoic chamber, you will notice the difference between this and the original. But no one likes a snob
