  • If you know this pedal
You know. What can I say. It speaks for itself

  • It’s great
Seems overwhelming but it’s super user friendly and just easy to dial in. Great pedal with a lot to offer.

  • very versitile delay
Extremely versatile delay. I mostly use the Tape and Analog delay settings in general, but the more modulated delays, and shimmerish delays have an immense amount of depth and tweak-ability to them if you can deal with a little old school menu diving. This pedal can also be automated from a DAW, and I find it to be a lot of fun automating parameters within the pedal from a DAW session...I gravitate to the sounds of dusty analog tape delay and lo-fi tones yet as a rule of thumb...its easy to make something clean sound dirty, but its hard to make something dirty sound clean!!...so I prefer a hi fidelity articulate sound to begin with..but Im am happy enough with the more vintage settings on this pedal for that. The only thing that seems missing that the el capistan has, are the selection of tape heads..,If you are looking soley for a tape delay , there are plenty of good choices like the Bella Epoch or El Capistan, RE-20, but for a little bit more$, you get a massive amount of versatility with this pedal. The rest of the delays in the pedal have a sound that is very "strymon-esque" ...if you own a 'blue sky' you will find some of the tones similar in that they are very detailed with supurb stereo imaging ( this is a mono or stereo pedal) . If you cant get the tones you are looking for in this pedal ( as Justin Bieber posted) it is likely because it's a DELAY...not a tube amp..or a drive pedal..or an EQ, and you are likely missing something else in your tone chain, preamps , gain , modulation, filters ect . I currently pair this pedal with an Empress Reverb and a series of tone pedals on the front end , and it sounds incredibly dusty and vibey on anything i throw at it . If you are looking for a very flexible delay, this is a solid choice...and if you cant get this thing sounding good with the vast amount of parameter tweak ability and expression control....I think it speaks more about personal experience level ( Justin Bieber) than it does to the pedal itself...this does what it is supposed to do very well...if you want a more lo-fi tone there are a ton of cheap modulation and filter pedals you can throw in the chain before and after to accomplish what any expensive "boutique" lo-fi pedal does...but without being a 1 trick pony ... show more

  • Honey on the ears but tears on the pocketbook
This is an amazing effect pedal. There is a small learning curve but if you persevere... it’s honey. After I bought this, sent it back as it’s $399 at Guitar Center. Also keep in mind they do 20% off during the holidays. You do the math. Amazon...this is out of control expensive.

  • Lush And Inspiring
After reading the review, " Dry and uninspiring I thought I should offer a different account of this AMAZING pedal. I think the reviewer may have possibly had a faulty unit, or just hadn't spent enough time exploring the vast amount of available possibilities the Timeline has onboard. Each pair of ears are different and it may just be a matter of taste, but my experience with this pedal is 180 ° opposite. It is LUSH and all inspiring. I have owned mine about 4 years and feel I have only scratched the surface of what is capable. This pedal is simply the most awesome effect I have ever owned. There are plenty of YouTube videos you can watch that can demonstrate better than I can writing this review. P.S. - Don't pay over $449 for this pedal. ... show more

  • Uninspiring. Dry and brittle software digital delay.
It's a software digital delay plug-in in a box except that it sounds terrible. Perhaps it is the A/D converters? Even when bypassed, there is a huge drop in tone. The construction quality feels good on the outside but it must be terrible in the inside because it sounds very weak and brittle. The screen is hard to read in any lighting condition and the switches don't always click. Sometimes you have to step or press the buttons multiple times for it to engage. At the end of the day, its mostly about the sound for me. In this case, this box sounds very uninspiring. The best way to describe it is shrill and lacking any type of luster. This would be good for someone looking for a harsh bit crusher type of digital effect in a delay unit. ... show more

  • 5 star pedal, 1 star price
1 star, not for the pedal...for the insane price!!! You can easily snag this for $400-$450 private or on Reverb. Spend a couple seconds and you can find this way cheaper.
