Not heavy duty! We bought this in January 2019 and 2 months later the top completely broke off and there’s no way to fix it. Looks like we’re not the only ones this has happened to. We’re 1 month past the return date so I wrote Morvat via Amazon. Will see if they respond with a refund or replacement. Obviously this product needs a new connector design to last more than 2 months. Unfortunately this was a total waste of money. Hopefully the company responds. I’ll update if they do or don’t. ... show more

I have purchased 4 of these manifolds. When they work, they are great. Apparently, the hose-connection part is "press fit" into the main part of the manifold. The "press fit" can shear off any time for no reason. This has happened on 2 of the units. When I was using one yesterday, it was leaking out of one of the hose connections. When I tightened the hose by hand, the connection part sheared off. I cannot trust this brand. The bottom line is: When these work they are great, but they can shear off without any force. Unreliable. I would recommend another unit, like one made by Orbit or Gloden. ... show more

Cheaper splitters with plastic ball valves don't last too long before they start leaking, either by allowing some water to keep trickling through attached hoses when they are shut off, or leaking around the stem of the valves and out of the case of the splitter itself. No leaks with this one, though. As other reviewers have noted, you'll need pliers to open and close the valves the very first time, but after that they turn easy enough by hand. To ensure solid drip-free connections, use the provided rubber washers. The description page at Amazon wasn't clear on this, but the female input connection (that attaches to the faucet) does spin freely until it's tightened down, allowing you to position the splitter at any desired perpendicular angle on the faucet. Some splitters don't, so when you tighten them all the way down onto the faucet you're stuck with whatever odd angle they end up at - or you may not be able to use them in a tight spot which doesn't have clearance to spin the splitter round and round when attaching them to the faucet. ... show more

Less then a years time it fails. The welding is what failed. Poorly manufacture, wouldn’t recommend it to No anyone. As a business owner that’s relying on my nursery to stay watered while, not having to stand over it and watch it every second of the day. I can’t trust this item to do it’s job. No one wants to stand out in the middle of the sun repairing water pluming half the day. The valves also failed. One 4-way valve was purchased. A few of the male heads were nicked deeply enough to cause leaking. Photos and an explanation were sent to Morvat. They replaced the valve immediately. Not sure if the damage is occurring at the manufacturing plant, but check your shipment. The second valve had lighter damage, which was removed carefully with a flat file. ... show more

Amazon shows that I last purchased this on February 29, 2020. The valve on the far right broke almost immediately, so I had to put a hose cap on that end. I didn't send it back because I thought maybe I'd done something wrong. Well, it completely broke yesterday as my husband was trying to remove the hoses from it in anticipation of a winter storm. I am buying a replacement for it - the one listed in the current offering which says everything is brass, no plastic whatsoever. and that it's been improved. Overall, I like the design better thank anything else out there (mostly plastic components) and the descriptive copy says everything - including the valve handles - is made of brass. Excellent quality 4-way Morvat Brass Splitter with very hard to turn levers across the down spouts. The levers are screwed onto the down spouts. The screws used to affix the one to the other are a softer metal than the screwdriver used to do the loosening. The screws heads slots enlarge from the hand pressure applied to turn them. The levers themselves are difficult to finger pinch and turn. Otherwise good product. It accepts the head of the hose with no leaks. ... show more
