We have used it for close to 4 months now, floor is dry, it doesn't smell, it's not damp. Highly recommend it. I was a little hesitant to buy these because the reviews were so mixed. Personally, I have 1 small Pomeranian and 1 medium Pomeranian-Husky mix. The only one that gets water everywhere is the medium sized dog and it's not even that bad so I didn't need anything crazy absorbent. I have never seen water sitting on top of the mat for very long and I never see water marks/stains so I assume that it absorbs it. The mat itself is a soft rubbery feeling and the color is true to the photos listed. I think if you have dogs that get water everywhere out of the bowl like crazy, this might not be the mat for you but if you get drips sometimes, this one is fine. ... show more

I got this for my slobbery pup but unfortunately it isn't very absorbent as we quickly noticed water underneath the mat as well. It helps a little but not enough to make it worth it. Maybe a larger size would've been better.

Idk if i would call them "absorbant" but they are better than like a plain silicone one. The light grey is super ugly though. Its really REALLY light and maybe almost a brown grey color?
