If it is over saturated after the dogs take a drink, it will not absorb any water and it will pool underneath the mat and warp the floors. It is not leak proof as advertised.

I received this product free from Amazon Vines. The MontVoo Absorbent pet feeding mat is working well for me. It stops my dog bowls from sliding around as much as they did on a regular cloth mat. The cloth mat slid, not so much the bowls. My Roborock rolls right over it mopping as it goes and it dries and so far has shown no signs of being smelly as one reviewer has stated. Time will tell on this for me. If it does, a quick wash and dry should take care of it. We did have to wash the cloth mat, so this will be nothing new. One of my dogs is a water slinging camel dog and can string water from one end of the kitchen to the other. At least the area around the water dish remains dry for the other dogs. There have been no spots or stains on the mat and it still looks like it did when I put it down. It fit the spot I had for it perfectly. Good job, MonVoo! ... show more

I ordered this for a new puppy. I feel like I had high expectations for the item. It is fairly absorbent, but not if the dog is really messy. It does absorb some of the water leaked out but not all of it and if it gets really saturated then you do not want to leave it sitting on the wood floor soaked. I still prefer having it under my pets bowls to not having it. It is non-slip and does keep the bowls in place which is really nice because she was moving her bowl all over the place, so that has been super helpful for that! It is still a good price for the item overall and I would buy it again. ... show more
