[Amazon Top Contributor Review]✔ Ashwagandha is an incredibly rejuvenating herb that is used to support and heal many health conditions. It's one of the most highly regarded and commonly used adaptogens in the Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia. As a balancing adaptogen, it boosts the body's ability to resist stress, while healing the damage stress has already created in the body (believe me, it builds up and affects you negatively). It enables the body to reserve and sustain vital energy throughout the day, while promoting sound, restful sleep at night. Ashwagandha maintains proper nourishment of the tissues, particularly muscle and bone. It also nourishes and strengthens nervous, adrenal, thyroid, and immune function. This potent herb decreases inflammation, which relieves chronic pain in rheumatism, chronic illness and injuries. It's used to promote muscle strength, ease stiffness, and to support comfortable joint movement. Ashwagandha is an excellent supplement to support those suffering from conditions such as arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome/M.E., chronic headache or migraine, back pain, muscle spasm/spasticity, anxiety, PTSD, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and much more. I can personally attest to this because I deal with many of these issues daily, and I help treat those with similar conditions. Ashwagandha is used to maintain a healthy libido, boosting vitality, vigor, and strength in its users. As a rejuvenative, Ashwagandha is particularly useful to seniors, people with chronic fatigue, autoimmune disorders, thyroid issues, and for anyone that would benefit from a natural source of calm energy. In our society of high stress and even higher expectations, this can be extremely valuable. You may not like the strong, earthy smell and taste of Ashwagandha; it takes some getting used to. The powder can be simmered in milk, and this fatty delivery system may increase benefits for the fat-lined nervous system. Try it with almond, hemp, or coconut milk. You can add some honey (bonus points for Manuka UMF-rated honey, an effective natural antibiotic) or maple syrup to sweeten the taste. Ashwagandha also blends well in decocted teas, including chai, and with cacao powder. Of course you can choose to encapsulate it in gelatin or vegetable capsules like I do. Just keep in mind: particularly in humid weather, this powder can get pretty sticky on your hands and on your capsules. Use clean rubber gloves if you'd like to avoid this from happening. I make most capsules by hand without a capsule-making machine, so I can fully pack them to the brim. I use size 00 gel capsules. Ashwagandha is often used in sleep aids, although it can give you energy as well. It's a super versatile adaptogen, and one of my absolute favorites. It has truly helped me find and maintain functionality again. I'm finally beginning to recover from my chronic illness and its symptoms, and learning to deal with my chronic pain. This herbal extract has given me strength and mental clarity, while significantly reducing my levels of stress. Any stress, even normal levels of it, can immediately make me sick, so I work hard every day to avoid unnecessary conflicts. I take Ashwagandha and complementary supplements in capsules throughout the day, and I love what it does for me and my family. You will too! Micro Ingredients is a dependable supplement company and this is a great product. Tip: My powder eventually got clumpy and old, even though it was always kept sealed in the bag. You may want to consider transferring the powder to a glass jar to keep it longer. I'm not sure this bag is totally airtight. It's very thin.     • Reccomend at 700 mg a serving. 2000 is too high!!!

Negatives: Powder is hard to mix with water using a spoon. Chalky in texture when poorly mixed. This can be mitigated via blender or with a good blender bottle. Is slightly bitter in flavour. Positives: Product has a great calming effect and improved the quality of sleep but not necessarily the length. The reccomended dose (2000 mg and over) on the package has been shown to affect organ function over an extended period of time. I highly advise against it. This can be mitigated by taking a lower dose. (700 mg) will get the desired effect over the course of a week. Overall, this Ashwaganda brand and company makes a great product and Iwould highly recommend it at the lower dose! Bonus Tip: For a middle eastern person, it compliments yogurt very well to accentuate tart yogurt varieties making great middle eastern yogurt drinks. ... show more

We take it in our turmeric milk. Tastes pretty normal. I also take it in my immunity booster shots with ginger powder, black cumin seed (klaunji) powder, nutmeg powder and honey in lime water. Very nice.
