Used it on my Xbox X and it worked right away, no complicated set up, just plugin and GO. My suggestion is make a container or special location to prevent dust getting into it, but at the same time make sure it can breathe at all times. I used a screen box I made.

You have to reformat it with a PC. If you only have a Mac, it’s just a brick. Yes, it says you can download software to do it on a Mac, but the software is buggy and never ultimately worked. We returned it.
