The meatstick works as described. I used it to cook prime rib. But, there were a couple of times before the meat went in the oven where the app lost connectivity with the stick. Not sure why. Finally got it set up and it worked great except I couldn't take my mobile phone out of the kitchen for 3 hours. A Meatstick in an oven or grill evidently can't be further than 6 feet from the tracking app. Hence, the reason it got 3 stars for ease of use. In the end, they really aren't selling the complete set as a unit. It appears I also need to purchase the extender to make this truly useful. ... show more

I am at the age that electrons gadget are completely. A phone number to a tech would be good. I know this isn’t the 60’s 🤔, Ok it’s 2 months and 6 cooks later. I love this thing. It was complicated at first. But I did learn. Now it seems so easy. I love having NO cords. I love knowing exactly what the ambient temperature is right at the meat. I love the notification right on my phone. If you smoked or BBQ at least 3 times a month. Order yours today. I get happy when I smoke 😜 ... show more

    • Terrible App Integration and Connectivity
Style: WiFi Bridge Set (Unlimited Range)
Received this as a Christmas present. Was excited after reading several reviews. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. If anything, this is the most frustrating product I have ever purchased. For reference, I have the MeatStick and the WiFi bridge. I worked with tech support for 6 months without results. Bottom line, the MeatStick WOULd not stay connected to either the app or the WiFi bridge. Performance was always inconsistent, with the exception that it always failed to stay connected throughout a cook! Every. Single. Time. It would disconnect from both blue tooth and WiFi. From the app on the phone and the iPad, the bridge, whatever I connected it to. I sent in hundreds of photos to tech support. They would see some of my info through the cloud. But it too was incomplete because of the disconnects. The bridge was ALWAYS within 2-3 feet of the probes. There is something between the sticks, the bridge, and the app that needs to be resolved. Again, tech support was no help. One last frustrating thing…..the “ambient” temperature sensor is not truly ambient. It was always within 5-10 degrees of the internal temperature. They tried to tell me that because the probe was close to the meat, it was reading the temp at the surface of the meat. So it really isn’t ambient temperature. So, if you want to use these to gauge the ambient temperature of your grill/smoker/over, you are out of luck. Bottom line, my inkbird performs better. Wires work. Don’t buy the hype. This is only able to talk to the meatstick in your oven if your device is within 6 ft. I have found that makes it pretty pointless. I was wanting something where I could be in another room and get notified. It says it works that way for a grill, not an oven. Also, I got it out to use it and it wanted to do a firmware update--right now, you can't use it until this is done. I had to update the app on my phone, I had to put the meatstick in the charging device, I had to click ok over and over. I had to approve pairing again twice. It didn't take long when it was actually downloading, but after that, it said I had to do it again. then it said it was done after I had clicked 3 things. ... show more
