The Master Lock Magnum M175LFEC2 Heavy Duty Outdoor Combination Locks features a 2in (51mm) wide zinc body for strength and reliability. The 3/8in (10mm) diameter octagonal shackle is 1-1/2in (38mm) long and made of Tough-Cut boron- carbide, 50% harder than hardened steel, offering maximum resistance to cutting and sawing. The roller pin cylinder provides maximum pick and pry resistance. The hinged dial cover and shackle seal offers superior weather protection, and reinforced body bumper protects against scratches. I got this after I wasted my money on a bluetooth combination lock. The bluetooth lock was worthless because you needed a phone app to open the lock. I liked the temporary code function so that I could have someone else able to unlock and access the contents. It didn't allow me to pick a combination, had no zero, used so many digits that you had to send the code to the person who was to be able to unlock it also. Then, it didn't work, the only way I could open the lock was with the app. I ordered this padlock to solve the problem with the other bluetooth lock. This lock is strong and heavy, allowing you to pick a 4 digit code and has the zero too. I don't have to use my phone at all which is much better for my needs. ... show more

I did not realize how big these were until they arrived and these things are HEAVY. I honestly believe them when they say these will deter thieves as I wouldnt want to bother with it either. I do have a complaint about the rubber cover for the combination lock though. It is only held on by two small rubber nipples that are very flexible so if you open the rubber cover too much, it will just fall off. Depending on how often you use the lock, this may or may not be annoying. The locking mechanism feels very rigid and operates smoothly with a very satisfying click.     • No keys to make or lose and one less key in your pocket

I have put this lock on my shed for several reasons. One, the last lock had just one key and I was always worried that I would lose it (where is the other one?). Two, the keyed lock has a special key that cost $9 USD to order from the lock company, it is a good safe lock but a little overkill on security. Three, even when you have a nice, keyed lock that no one could pick - you have to have a spare key somewhere which defeats the purpose of a nice lock. A criminal will search for spare keys when you're not home because he will assume that you won't let yourself get locked out. A combination lock solves all that and is one less key to guard with your life. Need to remember the numbers - use four digits from your credit card, then you don't have to write it down. The combo numbers can be changed easy on this lock and requires no key or pin that is used on other locks. I give this Master lock a recommend because I am not a key collector. ... show more

I have had the same lock as this one for 9 years and it's always been great Recently it failed and I ordered the exact same one and what I received was an empty bag sealed shut with my label address on it Amazon took care of me but the point that I didn't like is that they contacted the company within this interaction and the company said that they knew that they packed it and I found that to be irritating at the very least like they remember packing my specific order Annoying as that was I ordered another lock Amazon gave me no problem it arrived the next morning when I took it apart or tried to take it apart the combination that they send with it that was sealed inside the package didn't work Now I'm pissed because I have a lock that doesn't work and a shed that's not locked I think from now on I'm going to buy something else from a physical store because items like this you want to work to secure your items As far as the lock goes it's extremely sturdy the size is decent the weight is Hefty in your hand I like the lock that's why I tried ordering it both times it's the company that I have a problem with or whoever runs the Amazon store Moving forward I will purposely choose a different company when I buy my lock which maybe they don't care if I'm buying one lock every 8 years but when everyone stops that might matter. ... show more

This is a standard size outdoor padlock. The shank ip top is a little longer than a normal “locker” sized lock making work where the shorter locks wont. The combination was easy to set by unlocking and rotating the has 180 degrees and pressing it down like you are locking it and rotating it another 90 degrees. The preset combination from the factory is hidden under a little compartment in the rear of the package. Though it was clearly marked I still had to look for it. I was annoyed you have to cut the top off the compartment open instead of easy tab to pull it open. There is also a rubber flap to cover the combination to make it water resistant. The design of the flap makes it a little too easy to remove I had to put it back on at the storage facility from normal use it comes off. ... show more
