The center-mounted CD drive mechanism is compatible with music CD CD-R and CD-RW discs while the USB-A port even supports Hi-Res audio such as FLAC HD DSD and more. These HDAMs consist of discrete surface mount components with short mirror image L/R signal paths. These devices do exactly the same thing as the Op-Amps but outperform the regular IC Op-amps dramatically in terms of the Slew Rate and reduced noise level resulting in a more dynamic accurate and detailed sound. In the CD6007 the proprietary HDAM-SA2 circuit improves on its previous HDAM module for a more stable power supply. The idling current stability is less influenced by power transistor temperatures to maintain sound performance even at the high-level output. Very solid and well built unit. Great sounding with both my CD's and with a USB stick. Very pleased with the feel of this stereo component. The CD tray is solid and the front panel controls seem solid. The remote functions very well. I like that I can put a USB stick in and let it randomly play the entire device. The display is limited and as such some users might find it easier to navigate a USB if the component has a link to a TV display. I was shocked that Marantz shipped this in a box clearly marked Marantz (no over box) and that sat on my porch for the day. Also the box was pierced right down to the very last layer of paper on the cardboard inner flap from a packaged dropped on it during the shipping process I assume. That was directly over the remote which had no extra protection on it. But it survived. ... show more

This item was recommended to me by a friend. He was absolutely correct, it work great and sounds better than my last brand name CD player. Easy to connect to my pre-amp.     • Quality Issue
I bought this CD player to replace a much more expensive CD player. The expensive CD player required two tray replacements. What I expected from reading multiple excellent ratings regarding the Marantz 6007 was a great player for a modest price. The initial listening confirmed that the sound was just amazing. What a deal for such sound!!! What I was not prepared for was the player stopped functioning after 2 weeks. No matter what button I pushed on the machine or the remote would not allow me to listen or load/unloae cd. Although it is not Amazon's position to have to honor the warranty, I found that Marantz was worthlesss in its responsibility for the 3 year warranty. What difference is the Marantz 3 year warranty compared to most other 2 year standard warranties. Marantz might as well have a 30 year warranty when you can't contact them. After countless hours on the phone I never was able to speak to them. The normal wait time that they said was 45 minutes would go down to 35 minutes. Then suddenly the wait time increased to an hour. This happened endlessly. Trying Marantz's web site for service was equally frustratingm The end result for me is the Marantz CD 6007 sounds great. It is not worth it if you get a defective one. I never write reviews, as is evident. But buying a Maran)tz C 6007 CD is just not worth it. ... show more

    • Great Design poor Manufacturing
Replaced my NAD BEE CD player that sounded very good with CD6007. To my surprise it brings my entire system to a different level! Unfortunately, it started to play music too fast when it feels like it! Manufacturing in Vietnam definitely a mistake.

I was searching for a CD Player that played only CD's well, I didn't want a DVD/ Blurey that happened to also play them. I had been looking for vintage Marantz equipment for over a year as an amp and went to the current Marantz page to see what was new. This is the matching player I found, and the new design features circuits to reproduce a great, warm vintage sound that reminds you of days gone by. I got the amp and this player and was delighted to find that my CD collection sounded just slightly less good than my vinyl. Before this, my CD's sounded flat and tinny on an older player. I replaced an old cd player with this Marantz. I was not expecting too much in the way of game changing sonic improvement. I thought my system with the old player sounded pretty good. All I can say is wow. I spent last night playing my favorite discs and it was like hearing them for the first time. This cd player has breathed new life into my music collection and my system. Improvements in imaging, separation, width and depth of sound field, authoritative and controlled bass. The list goes on. The CD6007 showed me that I didn't know how good my system could sound. Two things I like about this: I can insert a flash drive so it plays audio files of my own guitar playing. These are highly detailed loss-less files, though I can't remember the numbers. Secondly, like some others have mentioned, I hear things in the CD's I never heard before. The clarity of the sound is great. As to price, yes jacked up, and supply has issues, but thank you Marantz for this equipment. ... show more
