I have used Manic Panic since college over 20 years ago. The Amplified line has been a favorite of mine for just under half of that. It provides deep color that lasts about a month-- fading from a dark tone to a lighter one over time. That lighter tone rarely looks washed out like other color brands, so it gives me plenty of time to refresh it. This color in particular covers my grays well without having to treat my hair with bleach. If you apply it with a highlighting brush to grays, you get some nice variance and dimensionality. I am frequently complimented on this color. Before my grays, I would use the Vampire Blood color on bleached blond hair which would go from dark red to pink. Currently, I am using a bright green on my kid and it is washing very well, though the cool tone purple rinses out surprisingly fast. I happily endorse this product. Just be careful, it stains a variety of surfaces for a very long time. Apply it with gloves and try to avoid getting it on your skin if you don't want to look terribly bruised lol. ... show more

I have been coloring my hair teal/turquoise for almost 9 years now. I’ve used so many brands, and I keep coming back to Manic Panic, and the amplified versions are my favorite. It’s easy to use, doesn’t damage my hair, and lasts a long time. Some tips - start with clean hair. No leave-ins or styling products. Leave the color on for as long as you can. I leave it on for hours, covered with a shower cap. Then after the initial rinse out, don't wash it for as many days as you can handle. You’ll see some run-off the first couple times you wash it, but then you’re good to go for a very long time. It also fades very nicely. It will turn into a beautiful pastel minty green if you let it go long enough. And yes, I do bleach before coloring (only my roots since I use the same color every time) so this is the result on a light blonde. I’ve tried so many other mediocre to terrible brands, so for as long as I keep this color, I’ll be using Manic Panic’s atomic turquoise. ... show more

Color: Virgin Snow Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I started with natural white roots (about 1/2") with the rest of my hair at a level 10 platinum, which had been covered with a rose gold fashion color. The fashion color was very faded to a slight goldish tint that I wanted to cool down. I tried a purple shampoo on it, but my hair is so light that it actually picked up the purplish tone on the ends. Yuck, but using a detox shampoo washed out that putrid ashy-purplish color. So I knew I needed to use a toner that was not at all strong and would not stain. Manic Panic Virgin Snow (which is a light blue-purple) to the rescue! After shampooing my hair and letting it completely dry I scooped out the Virgin Snow and applied it to my hair, making sure every strand was well-coated. I left the it in for 25 minutes, then rinsed it out. The Manic Panic had entirely covered the pale-gold tone and my hair was blonde, but a bit on the ashy-grey side, so I know that next time I will leave Virgin Snow on for only about 12 minutes. Since the initial application I have washed my hair three times. It's a pretty blonde, although I think after the next (4th) shampoo it'll be just right. My biggest tip for getting the best use out of Manic Panic Virgin Snow: Your hair must be up to a FULL, entire level 10, very pale yellow, and needing only a bit of toning to make it a true white. ... show more

Overall, very pretty, very shiny color...saturation did not take on ANY areas that were not already incredibly porous including new root area which was freshly bleached to a 10, but still very healthy and undamaged leading to a hot root look. Overall I kind of love the look, the mids and ends that came out perfect 👌 I am thrilled, and I ordered an extra jar for a re tone of the root area which had to be kept on longer to fully saturate. So to get to the look shown I did 3 jars on whole head left on for 1.5 hrs. Then a second coat on the root/crown area, left on the 2nd day for another 1.5 hours, then rinsed, shampooed and conditioned with silver stiletto toning shampoo and conditioner and then hit with olaplex 8 mask for 15 minutes and rinsed in cool water, end result was a perfect, creamy silver and gold blond. I have been trying to get this combo for a few years now and this is as close to #GOALS as I think I can get...I am ordering another 4 jars to do a weekly tone before it's time to redo the roots again, and when I do I will leave the color on that root area much longer then the mids and ends and see if I can get it done in one full shot next time. (Used manic panic blue lightening for my root touch up this time and will use that again, as that really gave me hot white roots. ) Having said all that, TL/DR- great silver toner for a level 10 blonde, but it needs incubation time, 2 hours at least....3 hours may be the ultimate silver if you are looking for full on icy silver, but for what I wanted, 2 will likely be my sweet spot. ... show more
