I had some issue under my front door that you could clearly see light under the bottom. With potential for bugs and winter coming, I bought this because it was a good price and it was easy to install and works great. No light coming in, and the door physically you can tell is better sealed at the bottom due to some extra resistance needed in opening and closing. I'm glad I bought this before winter. Well, I've got a house that was built in 2003. The doors on the back deck had the old 'slotted' sweep, and over the years the water had done what water does and left the bottom of the door a little...shall we say, incomplete. Small pieces were splintering off, so replacing the tracked sweep wasn't a possibility. A new door runs nearly $1000. Plan B, please. Along comes this fine piece of engineering to save the day! I did have to cut off about 1/2", but installation was a breeze! Get a small block of wood and a hammer and tap-tap-tap the end of the sweep onto the bottom of the door. The fit is perfect! I actually bought two so I could fix the other door! These things are awesome! Will buy again--I've got 13 outside doors, so I believe I'm gonna be busy! ... show more

Door had horrible under door weather stripping, also the right corner had damage that left a bit of a hole. This worked well to seal the bottom and since it covers the door itself it was able to cover the damaged part so you couldn’t see it and blocked the hole. Had to buy a cheap hand saw to cut it to size which was a pain. Was A LOT of work took a lot of attempts to get it on the door. Lots of effort and strength needed. But with it all said and done it does the job I needed. The bottom underside part is a little cheap and low quality. Ripped a bit while trying to get it on the door so be careful there. ... show more

I put these on all our bedroom doors to give us all a little privacy and reduce noise spillage. They are easy to measure and cut and they slip on the bottom of the doors with ease also. No need to glue or fasten them to the doors either. Of course if you want to screw them in or nail them to the door for further stability I don’t think that would be a problem but it’s really not necessary to do that. These also reduce draft AND keep our cat from doing that thing where she reaches under the door and keeps banging it all night, keeping us up. If you have a cat you know what I’m talking about because cats are what goes bump in the night. Ugh. ... show more

The bottom seal had rotted out of the bottom of my metal exterior door and I figured I might need to replace the door. After a quick search I found this. I had to cut about a half inch off the length and then it slipped on and fit perfectly. Fits snug and seals good. A great product and value. I bought and installed two. Then discovered I could use one with Kerf rail attachment so ordered those as back up. For these U channel type one came in fine shape. Other was deformed with the four seal ribbons bent almost to 80°. But I was OK with that because one door had a very small gap to seal, so fit the deformity. They install hard even using trick of soapy water. If you can install from bottom up do so and not hammer much sideways. There is a rubbery seal on the outside along very top of U channel that is delicate and easily damaged. But I see it is useful to keep water out which would corrode metal doors. Trapped water is such a concern that I would not install these on doors not completely out of the rainfall. One is working fine after a month. The one on the tight threshold tore a seal fin off within a few weeks. But still three were working. I needed to temporarily seal an inside door with wide gap. So I stole this failing one to do that. Worked great as looser fit and adjustable height. The U channel had damaged the metal door paint badly. Now I believe the previous owner repainted the door and probably with not the best paint. But it is something to consider and all the more reason to install very very carefully. Product has its place but would not use on a tight fit again. ... show more
